  • Patent number: 6482532
Abstract: Easy-tear, non-halogenated, high-clarity ethylene polymer films are described that do not contain migratory additives and that are useful as a domestic food wrap. These films also exhibit high inherent cling values. In one embodiment, the film is multilayered in which the outer layers comprise a very low density heterogeneously linear polyethylene or a homogeneously branched polyethylene, preferably a substantially linear ethylene polymer, and the inner layer(s) comprise a low density polyethylene. In another embodiment, the film is a monolayer, or multiple layers of the same formula, in which the film comprises a mixture of a very low density heterogeneous linear polyethylene or a homogeneously branched polyethylene, preferably a SLEP, and a LDPE.
