  • Patent number: 4759077
Abstract: A collapsible insulated carrier device is provided for transporting a single large container of a cold beverage such as a keg of beer. The carrier is a multi-layer construction, having an internally disposed thermally insulative shell fabricated of closed cell resilient polymer, a stress-bearing harness disposed upon the exterior of the shell, and an outer jacket of strong thin fabric that encompasses the shell and harness. Carrying handles are sewn through the jacket and into engagement with the harness. Such manner of association of the handles with the harness prevents tearing stresses from concentrating upon the bottom of the fabric jacket or the sites of handle attachment.

  • Patent number: 4721237
Abstract: A portable cooler which may be carried in back-pack style is adapted to store and automatically dispense a number of cans of beverage. The cooler is comprised of a box-like chamber having self-supporting thermally insulative material on its exterior surfaces. One or more removable coolant-confining containers are positioned within the chamber, each container having a serpentine contour of horizontally elongated recesses adapted to hold beverage cans and permit their vertical descent to a door positioned adjacent the bottom of the chamber. The chamber is held within a snug-fitting fabric carrying jacket having a zippered lid and closure for the door, and carrying straps.

  • Patent number: 4513895
Abstract: A thermally insulative carrier is provided comprised of a container fabricated of a closed cell foam of a resilient polymer, a harness adapted to lie in close-fitting contact with the exterior of the container, and an exterior cloth jacket which is sewn to the harness. Because of the manner of attachment of the jacket to the harness, the jacket is placed under less localized stress by the weight of the container and its contents. The jacket is provided with a closure panel and carrying straps.
