Publication number: 20240076078Abstract: A corner post application system for a load having corners includes corner post applicators and moveable corner post holders. The corner post applicators include a corner post gripper configured to grasp a corner post, with the corner post applicators configured to move the corner post to a corner of the load. The corner post holders each have a clamp and are moveable between a retracted position and an engaged position, where in the engaged position the clamp is configured to engage a respective corner post to press the corner post against the load at the respective corner. When the corner post holders are in the engaged position the corner post applicators are configured to be retracted with the corner posts being held in engagement with the corners of the load by the corner post holders to enable an enveloping machine to initiate placement of a film over the load.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Jason A. Brake, Jeremy N. Hockenberry, David C. Johnson, Peter C. Martin, Robert A. Van Ocker, Jonathan Van Sweden

Patent number: 9802723Abstract: A corner post application system comprises a conveyor subsystem and an enveloping machine adapted to envelope the plurality of units with a material. The system further includes a swing arm, an applicator arm coupled to the swing arm and adapted to move linearly, a corner post gripper coupled to the applicator arm, and a controller. The controller rotates the swing arm about a vertical axis until a corner post held by the corner post gripper is aligned with adjacent sides that define a corner of the load. The controller thereafter stops rotation of the swing arm and moves the applicator arm linearly toward the corner of the load until the corner post held by the corner post gripper contacts the adjacent sides of the load. A sensor may be included for detecting a corner of the load, with the controller aligning the corner post based on detection by the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2015Date of Patent: October 31, 2017Assignee: Mollers North America, Inc.Inventors: Bruce W. Brunson, Jason A. Brake, Peter C. Martin, Jonathan Vansweden, Thomas E. Wagner, Mark J. Clark

Publication number: 20140066854Abstract: A tunneler device is provided which includes a handle, a shaft supported on distal end of the handle, and a body positioned on a distal end of the shaft. The body supports an extension segment and a lariat member. The lariat member includes a rod that supports a capturing element. The capturing element is at least partially positioned about a perimeter of the extension segment in a spaced apart relationship with the extension segment, wherein the extension segment and the capturing element define an annular channel dimensioned to receive a catheter.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2012Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: TYCO HEALTHCARE GROUP LPInventors: Peter C. Patent number: 8585622Abstract: A connector for attaching at least one flexible tube to a fluid passage of another object includes a body and at least one connector port on the body. At least one tube port projects from the body and is adapted for fluid communication with the connector port. A portion of the body at least partially surrounds the tube port and defines an interior space containing at least a portion of the tube port. The tube port is sized and shaped for being received in an end of the flexible tube to establish fluid communication with the flexible tube. A tube retainer is at least partially disposed in the interior space defined by the portion of the body and has an engaging portion disposed in relation to the tube port to restrain the flexible tube from lateral movement with respect to the tube port.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2012Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Covidien LPInventors: Henry Mros, Peter C.
