  • Publication number: 20210022512
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods including a foundation member comprising: a front Portion configured to receive a user's upper legs, where the front portion comprises a first protrusion and a second protrusion; a pommel configured to guide the user to a proper location on the foundation member, where the pommel is proximate the front portion and between the first protrusion and the second protrusion; and a rear portion configured to receive a user's lower pelvic area, the rear portion comprising a central portion and an upwardly inclined lateral portion, where the lateral portion and the front portion collectively surround the central portion.

  • Patent number: 9763522
Abstract: A cushion for supporting a user relative to a support surface is provided. The cushion has material with sufficient flexibility to deform under a weight of the user and sufficient resilience to return to its original state when the weight is removed. A supporting face contacts the support surface and is characterized by a plurality of points. The supporting face is contoured such that, when the cushion is in an unloaded configuration, a first subset of the plurality of points contact the support surface and a second subset of the plurality of points do not contact the support surface. When a user then sits on the cushion so that it is in a loaded configuration, at least some of the points in the second subset are displaced under the user's weight and contact the support surface. The cushion thus both bends and compresses to distribute the weight of the user.

  • Patent number: 7695069
Abstract: A seat cushion having a flexible and semi-rigid body is provided. The body has a seating surface, having a first area, and a support surface, having a second area, spaced apart from the seating surface forming a body thickness. The body has a body composition with a first percentage by volume of EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate), substantially evenly mixed with additional materials, such as polyethylene, color pigment, polycarbonate, and/or dicumyl peroxide, in various percentages of the body composition. The seat cushion also has a plurality of spacing members spaced apart and substantially evenly distributed across the second area. The plurality of spacing members each have a spacing member composition with a second percentage by volume of EVA and with a third percentage by volume of rubber. The seat cushion further has a plurality of ventilation holes extending through the body from the seating surface to the support surface.
