  • Publication number: 20230367017
Abstract: A sensor system that obtains and processes time-of-flight data (TOF) obtained in an arbitrary orientation is provided. A TOF sensor obtains distance data describing various surfaces. A processor identifies a horizontal Z-plane in the environment, and transforms the data to align with the Z-plane. In some embodiments, the environment includes a box, and the processor identifies a bottom and a top of the box in the transformed data. The processor can further determine dimensions of the box, e.g., the height between the top and bottom of the box, and the length and width of the box top.

  • Publication number: 20230228883
Abstract: A sensor system that obtains and processes time-of-flight data (TOF) is provided. A TOF sensor obtains raw data describing various surfaces. A processor applies an averaging filter to the raw data to smooth the raw data for increasing signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of flat surfaces represented in the raw data, performs a depth compute process on the raw data, as filtered, to generate distance data, generates a point cloud based on the distance data, and identifies the Z-planes in the point cloud.

  • Patent number: 9098407
Abstract: A method for use with an electronic reading device comprising automatically fetching electronic media content and automatically and dynamically sequencing portions of the electronic media content for display on an electronic reading device. Optionally, the electronic media content can be automatically and dynamically divided into the portions that are then sequenced. Optionally, the electronic media content can be re-sequenced to reflect user preferences and needs. Various methods for recognizing and altering the display of the electronic reading device quickly and efficiently are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20010000528
Abstract: An improved method for performing cardiac surgery whereby one uses cavo-atrial cannula to remove blood from the body while performing cardiac surgery. The cavo-atrial cannula has at least two sets of openings, a removable obturator, a curved tip, a closed terminus, an open terminus, and a bend. The cavo-atrial cannula has the first openings located adjacent to the curved tip and the second openings on the side opposite the bend. The cavo-atrial cannula contains various markings to indicate the correct positioning of the cavo-atrial cannula. The cavo-atrial cannula is inserted into the superior vena cava or inferior vena cava. The tip of the cavo-atrial cannula can lie in either the right atrium or the vena cava opposite from the insertion point, depending on the type of surgery being performed.

The cavo-atrial cannula has the first openings located adjacent to the curved tip and the second openings on the side, opposite the bend. The cavo-atrial cannula is inserted into the superior vena cava or inferior vena cava. The tip of the cavo-atrial cannula can lie in either the right atrium or the vena cava opposite from the insertion point. Because of the location of the second openings at the bend, blood from the head and upper body traveling through the superior vena cava or from the lower body traveling through the inferior vena cava can enter the lumen of the cavo-atrial cannula, thereby preventing the dangerous build up of blood upstream of the insertion point of the device.

  • Patent number: 6017437
Abstract: A processing chamber for depositing and/or removing material onto/from a semiconductor wafer when the wafer is subjected to an electrolyte and in an electric field. A hollow sleeve is utilized to form a containment chamber for holding the electrolyte. A wafer residing on a support is moved vertically upward to engage the sleeve to form an enclosing floor for the containment chamber. One electrode is disposed within the containment chamber while the opposite electrode is comprised of several electrodes distributed around the circumference of the wafer. The electrodes are also protected from the electrolyte when the support is raised and engaged to the sleeve. In one embodiment, the support and the sleeve are stationary during processing, while in another embodiment, both are rotated or oscillated during processing.

  • Patent number: 5997712
Abstract: A copper replenishment system for replenishing copper which is depleted from a copper plating solution. The replenishment is achieved by the use of a compact filter cartridge, which is inserted into a recirculating loop for the solution. The filter cartridge contains a chemical, which when reacting with the solution replenishes the copper into the solution. The filter cartridge is a compact unit which can be easily handled and reduces the amount of contaminants that could be introduced by the presence of the replenishment chemical.
