  • Patent number: 9222470
Abstract: A pump comprising a housing comprising a rotor chamber, inlet and outlet channels opening into the rotor chamber, and inlet and outlet seals mounted on a surface of the chamber, and a rotor rotatably and axially slidably received in the chamber and comprising a first axial extension comprising a liquid supply channel and a second axial extension comprising a liquid supply channel, the first and second axial extensions having different diameters. The inlet and outlet seals engage a surface of the rotor, whereby the liquid supply channel of each axial extension in conjunction with a corresponding seal forms a valve that opens and closes as a function of the angular and axial displacement of the rotor. At least one of the inlet and outlet channels opens transversely into the rotor chamber and at least one of the inlet and outlet seals forms a closed circuit circumscribing said at least one of the inlet and outlet channels.

  • Patent number: 7122580
Abstract: This invention provides certain compounds, methods of their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds, and their use in treating human or animal disorders. The compounds of the invention are useful as antagonists, or more preferably, partial antagonist of factor IX and thus, may be used to inhibit the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation. The compounds are useful in a variety of applications including the management, treatment and/or control of diseases caused in part by the intrinsic clotting pathway utilizing factor IX. Such diseases or disease states include stroke, myocardial infarction, aneurysm surgery, and deep vein thrombosis associated with surgical procedures, long periods of confinement, and acquired or inherited pro-coagulant states.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2003
Date of Patent: October 17, 2006
    Assignee: TransTech Pharma, Inc.
Inventors: Adnan M. M. Mjalli, Robert C. Andrews, Xiao-Chuan Guo, Daniel Peter Christen, Devi Reddy Gohimmukkula, Guoxiang Huang, Robert Rothlein, Sameer Tyagi, Tripura Yaramasu, Christopher Behme
  • Patent number: 7090678
Abstract: The invention relates to a positioning instrument (1) for inserting an extension shell (2) into a human or animal bone, especially a pelvic bone. Said instrument comprises a fixing device (18) for fixing the extension shell (2) to the positioning instrument (1), and a displacement device (55) for displacing a disc element (15) of the positioning instrument (1) at least essentially axially in relation to the extension shell (2) fixed to the fixing device (18). Said disc element (15) co-operates with beveled surfaces (25a to 25e) of the extension shell (2) during the displacement, in order to tighten the extension shell (2). Furthermore, the disc element (15)-viewed in the direction of insertion (13)-does not project beyond the radially furthest projecting elements (32a, 32b) of the tightened extension shell (2).
