    Abstract: A method for controlling a ring spinning frame that has a drafting unit, a spindle, and a ring rail is provided. The method involves providing a clamping device for yarn in a position below a cop on the spindle. The method further involves the driving of the drafting unit, the spindle, and the ring rail in coordinated operation. Also included is changing the twisting of the yarn in order to obtain a matched strength during formation of the reverse winding at the end of the winding cop before reaching the cop bottom port within the last phase of the downward movement of the ring rail. Additionally, the yarn is brought into a section of the clamping device, and the spinning frame is slowed to a standstill. A spinning frame is also provided.

    Abstract: A coupling is used to couple a linear actuator with a slider valve unit in a sliding gate valve for a molten metal vessel. The slider valve unit is slidably mounted in a slider housing for movement in a longitudinal direction, and has a push rod for this purpose. A linear actuator mounting is provided on the slider housing, and the linear actuator is mounted in the linear actuator mounting. The linear actuator has a drive rod movable in a longitudinal direction when the linear actuator is mounted in the linear actuator mounting. The coupling has a structure such that when the linear actuator is mounted in the linear actuator mounting, and the drive rod is moved toward the slider valve unit, the coupling automatically couples the drive rod with the push rod. Furthermore, when the linear actuator is removed from the linear actuator mounting, the coupling automatically uncouples the drive rod from the push rod.

    Abstract: A gas sensing signaling system is provided in which a plurality of gas sensing units are connected over cables with a central station. To permit establishment of threshold levels such that false alarms are rejected while the system still remains sensitive to dangerous conditions and to permit ready supervision and testing of said system, a central station is provided in which timing circuits are included which start the time interval upon sensing of an alarm condition above a lower, or warning threshold level. If the lower warning level signal persists for the timing interval--for example for about one-half minute, a warning signal is given. A higher level signal generates an alarm signal, either immediately or after a much shorter time delay. The circuit includes self-holding circuitry so that, once a sensing unit transmits a sensing signal which persists beyond the previous predetermined warning or alarm time duration, the central station will indicate the respective conditions until manually reset.
