  • Publication number: 20040169609
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods which provide a tapered conductor strip adapted for broadband wireless communication. Embodiments provide a conductor strip which is curved along its face, thereby providing an aperture taper. The conductor strip configured to provide an aperture taper may be placed over a planar ground plane to form a wideband tapered strip antenna element. Embodiments further provide a conductor strip which is curved along an edge or edges thereof, thereby providing an impedance taper. The dimensions of the impedance taper are preferably selected to provide a desired characteristic impedance with respect to an antenna element formed therefrom. Embodiments may further include a shorting pin or shorting plate configuration to generate an additional mode.

  • Publication number: 20040169612
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods which provide multi-band antenna elements using multiple radiating branches interconnected with a feed plate, thereby providing a multi-band antenna element having a single feed. Additionally or alternatively, a wide band antenna configuration is provided utilizing multiple radiating branches of a multi-band antenna element of the present invention. Embodiments utilize one or more reflectors, such as to provide directivity and/or radiation pattern shaping, including utilizing one or more radiating branches of a multi-band antenna element as a reflector for another one or more radiating branches of the multi-band antenna.

  • Publication number: 20040146013
Abstract: A time division duplex repeater system includes two antennas, a switched directional amplifier and control circuitry. The antennas serve first and second coverage areas where the second coverage area is an extension of the first coverage area. The switched directional amplifier is coupled between the two antennas and has a single amplifier. The control circuitry is coupled to the switched directional amplifier and to receive inputs of the antennas. The control circuitry receives transmissions from the coverage areas and applies control signals to the switched directional amplifier to control the direction of transmission. The control circuitry may control the amplifier gain and direction of transmission based on the input signal power level.

  • Publication number: 20010040109
Abstract: Electronic device case with a hollow rectangular case made of resilient material such as leather, vinyl or the like or non resilient material such as plastic or aluminum or the like, the case being comprised of an upper half and a lower half hingedly connected at one end, both the halves capable of being opened or closed with respect to each other by a zipper, the upper half having a belt clip or belt loop fixedly attached to its outer surface, the lower half having an electronic device retaining means located on the inside, said retaining means allowing said electronic device control buttons to be visible and usable while said electronic device is retained in said case, said lower half being capable of folding outwards to a suitable viewing angle, said viewing angle being secured by means of a pair of support straps that each terminate centrally at one end to the side wall of said upper half and at the opposite end to the side wall of said lower half.

  • Patent number: 6245721
Abstract: The lubricant additive formulation for introduction into a petroleum based carrier, such as, motor oil, in which the additive contains substantially equal amounts of naphthenic oil and chlorinated paraffin with minor amounts of a paraffin oil and anti-wear and anti-oxidant agents; and in certain applications, metal powders or soaps are introduced into the additive together with an effective amount of grease necessary to maintain the metal particles in suspension when introduced into the liquid carrier.

  • Patent number: 5420013
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for detecting HLA polymorphs where distinguishing antibodies are not readily available. Cross-reactive antibodies are employed, where one cross-reacts with the HLA of interest and other alleles, and the other cross-reacts with one of the other alleles, but not with the HLA of interest. By appropriate protocols and controls, the polymorph of interest may be detected.

  • Patent number: 5256543
Abstract: Physiological samples are typed for HLA-B27 by contacting the sample with an antibody which binds to HLA-B7 and is not cross-reactive between HLA-B7 and B27, separating the sample from any complexes which are formed, and then testing the sample for the presence of HLA-B27 with an antibody which is cross-reactive for HLA-B7 and B27 in a STAT test. Particularly, an enzyme conjugate is used which binds to a membrane allowing for the detection of any HLA-B27 bound to the membrane.
