  • Publication number: 20040028909
Abstract: A synthetic composition is described including (i) a clear thermosetting resin selected from the group consisting of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl functional monomers and oligomers; (ii) at least one metal complex promotor; (iii) at least one UV stabiliser, and (iv) an aliphatic and/or aromatic polyallyl ether pendant monomer or polymer; or (v) a soluble clear thermoplastic resin and/or a wax; or a combination of (iv) and (v). The synthetic composition can be applied to a substrate. A suitable organic peroxide is suitably added prior to or after application to the substrate to facilitate the curing reactions. A primer or build coat may also be present under the synthetic composition.

  • Patent number: 6035800
Abstract: A dry storage box is held by a clamping device at a longitudinal location along the length of the small watercraft. Dry box provides water tight storage compartment with a hinged lid and latches for storing miscellaneous personal valuables and belongings. The clamped water tight box, in the event of capsize, remains secured to the gunwale, and thus valuables and belongings remain safe, dry and in one location. Incidentally provided are added buoyancy to the vessel in the event of a capsized condition, and when box is in normal use the longitudinal location allows free movement of the occupants about the small watercraft.

  • Patent number: 5885123
Abstract: A flotation device that converts an existing flexible round foam flotation piece into a flotation aid for recreational and/or exercise purposes. The flotation device is water resistant, lightweight, flexible and easy to carry and store. The round flotation piece, commonly known as a noodle, is inserted through a sleeve in the flotation device wherein the floating seat then takes shape. Due to the flexible characteristics of the invention, a wide range of body shapes and sizes provide a comfortable and stable flotation aid that allows the user to remain mostly submerged in the water with unrestricted movement of the arms and legs. In addition to a floating chair, other configurations utilizing the round flotation piece are possible by utilizing a reconfigured attachment device. For example, a flotation device can be made to form a floating raft by using a plurality of sleeves to mate with three round flotation pieces.

  • Patent number: 5400440
Abstract: A flat flexible fabric sheet has opposite side edges attached to an elastic band to form a hood-like fabric shield for a person's ears and neck. The fabric sheet and elastic band form an expansible annulus for attaching the sheet to a person's cap, such that when the cap is worn the fabric sheet hangs down from the cap's lower edge to cover the person's ears and neck. The lower corners of the fabric sheet are curved to minimize interference between the sheet and the person's collar, as might interfere with desired gravitational positionment of the fabric. The elastic band has a narrow width so that the band is easily stretched to enable the apparel item to fit a range of different size caps.
