  • Publication number: 20120067598
Abstract: A system for enhancing the fire extinguishing properties of water for use in combination with a pressure washer. The pressure washer distribution wand includes a nozzle located at the discharge end of the wand having an inlet for receipt of pressurized water, an eductor formed integral with said nozzle positioned along an area of reduced diameter for use in drawing polymeric material through a pick-up tube for admixing with the pressurized water, and an outlet for discharge of the mixture of water and polymeric material. The system provides a means for a homeowner to quickly modify an existing pressure washer into a distribution system of a mixture that enhances the fire resistance of structures, vegetation, or any other combustible matter.

  • Publication number: 20110272169
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a super absorbent polymeric material which when added to water produces a gel that enhances the fire extinguishing properties of the water. A pre-measured quantity of the polymeric gel material is packaged in a small easily opened dispenser type container. The disposable container is readily accessible for easy and rapid use of the gel by the individual under exigent circumstances to mitigate the effects of a rapid rise of temperature within a burning vehicle. The use of the gel providing sufficient time for the vehicle to leave the hostile zone prior to the individual exiting the vehicle. The gel provides extinguishing properties and is capable of long term storage.

  • Publication number: 20110095985
Abstract: A computer keyboard function key conversion kit provides the necessary software connections to allow ease of calling an emergency responder through a keyboard, and a modified function key that both highlights the function key operation and makes the function key resistant to accidental depression. In one embodiment, a conventional computer that is connected to the internet is programmed with an emergency contact number that can be dialed upon the press of a function key. The function key is capped with a device that inhibits accidental operation of the function key. The function key may have a rigid body that requires a force to depressing, the force can be sufficient to cause destruction of the protector in a similar way the operation of a fire alarm causing destruction of the fire alarm. The device can be installed on a new computer or a currently installed computer.

  • Publication number: 20090056957
Abstract: The instant invention relates to an apparatus and method for fire extinguishment and retardation. The method comprises of a means for introducing polymeric material to a flow of water from an outside source before the flow of water enters a pumping unit within a mobile fire fighting apparatus, thereby forming a mixture of water and polymeric material. An eductor assemblage provides a means of introducing the polymeric material to the flow of water. The eductor assemblage comprises of a hopper and an eductor member. The hopper contains an amount of polymeric material, specifically super absorbent polymers. The eductor member comprises of an inlet connectable to the outside source of water, an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet and connected to the intake on a mobile fire fighting apparatus, and an additive inlet positioned between the inlet and outlet.

  • Publication number: 20070102346
Abstract: The instant invention is a device for absorbing excess oil, grease and fat from liquid food products. The device has a porous outer layer completely enclosing an inner layer resembling a conventional tea bag. The inner layer of the device contains an oil, grease and fat absorbing material. When the device is placed into a liquid food product that contains unwanted hazardous liquid, the device will absorb the excess. The device can then be easily removed from the liquid food product by simply grabbing a string attached to the device that remains out of the food product by an anchoring means.

  • Publication number: 20060036304
Abstract: The instant invention comprises a thermal garment system worn by a user to cool the user's upper torso and thereby reducing the incidence of heat stress related injuries. The garment comprising a plurality pockets integrally attached to adapted to receive and support at least one thermal pack therein. The thermal pack comprising a sealed container having flexible walls enclosing a thermal composition and a catalyst adapted to produce an endothermic reaction when desired. The pack includes at least one venting means therein so that the thermal container is more readily capable of being conformed to user's body. The present invention further includes a method for cooling a user's torso and/or body which includes placing the vest around a user's torso, activating the amount of thermal packs believed necessary to produce the desired amount of cooling, and placing the thermal packs into at least one pocket of the vest.

  • Patent number: 6315213
Abstract: A method for artificially modifying the weather by seeding rain clouds of a storm with suitable cross-linked aqueous polymer. The polymer is dispersed into the cloud and the wind of the storm agitates the mixture causing the polymer to absorb the rain. This reaction forms a gelatinous substance which precipitate to the surface below. Thus, diminishing the clouds ability to rain.
