  • Patent number: 11931069
Abstract: An anchoring system for cannulas or tools to be inserted into a surgical workspace in the body, particularly the brain, of a patient. The system comprises a mounting ring which may be fixed to the skull to both secure the system to the skull and protect the skull opening from passage of cannulas and tools, a resilient clip with grasping jaws adapted to firmly grasp a cannula or tool, and a flexible membrane secured to the outer rim of the mounting ring and the clip.

  • Patent number: 7875727
Abstract: Vascular damaging agents composed of substituted 5(6)-substituted benzimidazole-2-carbamates are provided. These agents are useful in the preparation of medicaments for the treatment of diseases involving neovascularisation, particularly for the treatment of solid tumors, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and atherosclerosis. Embodiments include a 5(6)-substituted benzimidazole-2-carbamate of formula I wherein A represents a multi-substituted alkyl group or aromatic ring.

  • Patent number: 7789175
Abstract: A wheel assembly for a small-scale machine includes a pair of opposing, individually-driven wheels, associated motors and possibly one or more gear assemblies. The motors receive separate drive signals from a control electronics subsystem of the wheel assembly. The motors can be connected to the wheels via the gear assemblies. Because the wheels are separately driven, driving the two wheel assemblies at similar or different speeds drives the wheel assembly over straight or curved paths. An orientation assembly allows the orientation of the wheels to the machine to be controllably altered. A height adjusting assembly allows the distance between the wheels and a point on the machine where the wheel assembly is attached to be adjusted. The rotational axis that the wheel assembly rotates about when re-oriented need not pass through either wheel of the wheel assembly. The wheels can be driven by control signals generated by on-board control electronics.
