  • Patent number: 8177937
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for controlling the flow of a pulp suspension from a container in which the pulp is processed or stored are disclosed. The container is pressurized to a first pressure and includes an outlet for the pulp suspension, a pump includes an inlet and an outlet, and the pump inlet is connected to the container. The pulp suspension is fed from the inlet to the outlet of the pump and provides a controlled decrease in pressure to which the pulp suspension is subjected in the pump during such transport, and the flow from the container is controlled by adjusting this controlled decrease in pressure.

  • Patent number: 8038844
Abstract: A device for feeding cellulose-containing pulp from a dewatering unit, the dewatered pulp being discharged via an outlet included in the dewatering unit to a reception means positioned below the outlet, whereupon the pulp is transported to a stand pipe via an inlet included in the stand pipe, in which stand pipe the pulp falls freely under the influence of gravity, the reception means being positioned at a higher level than the inlet of the stand pipe. At least one feeding down surface is arranged which extends from the reception means to the inlet of the stand pipe, and the transport of the pulp between the reception means and the inlet of the stand pipe is effected by feeding the pulp downwards along this feeding down surface under the influence of gravity, the pulp being diluted during the feeding of the pulp downwards.

  • Patent number: 7196825
Abstract: A method and system for generating output from an electronic reading device is based on a detected position of the electronic reading device relative to a predefined address pattern on a specially formatted paper. Based on a periodic detection of successive positions of the electronic reading device, a printer on the electronic reading device is activated in a manner such that stored text or graphics are printed on the specially formatted paper. The printing can be accomplished, for example, using a thermo-print head of the electronic reading device in connection with a thermal sensitive paper. Either as an alternative to or in addition to printing, the electronic reading device can also generate an audio output based on the detected location of the electronic reading device.

  • Patent number: 6839623
Abstract: A method and system for retrieving position-related information uses a map of a selected geographical area printed on a surface that includes an address pattern. Each position on the address pattern corresponds to a particular location within the selected geographical area. By detecting a portion of the address pattern with an electronic reading device, a precise position of the electronic reading device with respect to the address pattern can be determined. A server identifies the specific geographical location that corresponds to the precise position. The specific geographical location can then be stored or information relating to the specific geographical location can be retrieved and forwarded to the user of the electronic reading device. Preferably, the map is printed on a region of address pattern that is predefined as corresponding to the selected geographical area.
