  • Patent number: 9410730
Abstract: A container has a porous support member affixed thereinside defining upper and lower chambers and a liquid partly filling the container. The liquid is frozen in the upper chamber. The container is oriented so that the upper chamber is gravitationally above the lower chamber, wherein the frozen liquid remains in the upper chamber. The container is placed in a cold zone of a freezer. Thereafter, the presence of the liquid in the lower chamber is indicative that a thaw episode has occurred. The presence of the liquid frozen in the lower chamber is indicative that the thaw episode has been followed by a refreeze event.

  • Patent number: 9406966
Abstract: A fuel cell assembly comprising an enclosure having a fuel cell stack mounted therein, and an inlet opening into the enclosure. The fuel cell stack having an inlet face for receiving coolant/oxidant fluid. The fuel cell assembly further comprises a delivery gallery extending from the inlet in the enclosure to the inlet face of the fuel cell stack, the delivery gallery having a first region and a second region separated by an aperture. The delivery gallery and aperture are configured such that, in use, coolant/oxidant fluid within the first region of the delivery gallery is turbulent, and coolant/oxidant fluid within the second region of the delivery gallery has a generally uniform pressure.

  • Patent number: 9392917
Abstract: A cleaning appliance of the cylinder type comprises a separating apparatus for separating dirt from a dirt-bearing fluid flow, and a floor-engaging rolling assembly. The separating apparatus comprises a first cyclonic separation unit having a low efficiency cyclone and a second cyclonic separation unit having a plurality of second cyclones. The rolling assembly comprises a main body having a recess in which the separating apparatus is received, and a plurality of floor-engaging wheels rotatably connected to the main body. The recess in the main body comprises a plurality of shaped recesses, each of which corresponds to the shape of at least a portion of a second cyclone. When the separating apparatus is received in the recess, a second cyclone is located at least partially in each shaped recess.
