  • Publication number: 20230254803
Abstract: A cellular network mobile station (MS) is configured for roaming operation. A prioritization of one or more Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) configurations is stored at the MS. When the MS is attached or registered for access to a PLMN that is not a Home PLMN or PLMN configuration that is not a highest priority PLMN configuration, it performs an idle mode search for a higher priority PLMN configuration at intervals of time. A duration of the intervals is determined according to a primary search period parameter stored at the MS. The MS is configured with a secondary search period parameter, which indicates one or more factors to be applied to the primary search period parameter when determining the duration of the intervals, such that each of the factors is applied according to a respective associated condition indicative of a number of PLMN configurations available for the MS to access.

  • Patent number: 10555325
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for enabling network resource prioritization of mobile terminating services of a user in a network, whereby the network comprises an evolved packet core network, an IP multimedia system network and at least one network element for aggregating information from messages transmitted in the network comprising the method steps receiving a request message via an interface of the network element, selecting a service information from the received request message, allocating a service type according to the selected service information, assigning a priority indicator for the allocated service type, converting the assigned priority indicator into a first identifier, creating a value by assembling the first identifier and a second identifier, and sending an answer message containing the created value via the interface.

  • Publication number: 20140348065
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of improving mobile terminating call handling in a change of a receiving mobile terminal (UE) from a first network to a second network, wherein the change is carried out as circuit switched fallback (CSFB) from the first network not providing circuit switched (CS) domain services to the second network providing circuit switched (CS) domain services. The method is characterized in that the Mobile Switching Centre/Visitor Location Register (MSC/VLR) of the second network supervises completion of the circuit switched fallback (CSFB) internetwork change to the second network.

  • Publication number: 20140287765
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of managing subscriber information of a user of a mobile device (10) in a communication system (1) comprising at least one femtocell management unit (110) of a femtocell (11) and at least one macrocell management unit (120) of a macrocell (12). The method is characterized in that the subscriber information is stored at a mobility management function (13) of the communication network of the at least one macrocell management unit (120) and that the subscriber information includes an indication of the femtocell management unit (110) to which the mobile device (10) is registered. Furthermore, a respective mobility management function (13) is described.

  • Patent number: 8406793
Abstract: An apparatus for delivering a message from an originating subscriber to a target subscriber across a communication network comprising; means for receiving in a first network a message from an originating subscriber to a target subscriber and an identifier of the target subscriber, the target subscriber being associated with the first network and the originating subscriber being associated with a second network, the message and identifier being received from the second network; means for identifying at least one network node associated with the target subscriber and being responsible for delivering messages to the target subscriber; means for selecting a network node from the at least one network node for delivery of the message; means for receiving from the second network an allowed time period for delivery of the message; means for determining the expected delivery time of the message for the selected network node; means for comparing the expected delivery time with the allowed time period for delivery; and

  • Publication number: 20120157071
Abstract: A Method of cancelling a Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) procedure from a source network, particularly E-UTRAN, to a target network, particularly GERAN or UTRAN, for a user equipment is described, wherein a first message for initiating a CSFB procedure is sent from the user equipment to the source network and wherein the cancellation of the CSFB procedure is performed after the first message for initiating the CSFB procedure has been sent, characterised in that after the cancellation of the CSFB procedure has been initiated, the user equipment sends a second message to the source network comprising a new cause value said cause value characterising the cancellation of the CSFB procedure.

  • Publication number: 20110275366
Abstract: A first electronic device is in communication with a base station of a network using a first communications technology and a second electronic device is in communication with the network using a second communications technology. The first and second electronic devices may be controlled by: identifying at a controller connected to the network that the first electronic device and the second electronic device have a common third communications technology, different from the first and second communications technologies; obtaining configuration characteristics for the first and second electronic devices at the controller; and determining at the controller that a communications link between the first and second electronic devices can be established using the common third communications technology, on the basis of the obtained configuration characteristics. The network may be a cellular radio network.

  • Patent number: 5137553
Abstract: A molecular jet separator includes a body which defines an evacuation chamber. A bore in the body traverses the chamber so that the bore has two segments on opposite sides of the chamber. Respective tubes are seated in these bore segments, with their opposed ends in direct or indirect engagement within the chamber, in a firm fit so that the bores of the tubes are substantially aligned. The bores of the tubes are open at the aforesaid opposed ends, and at least one of these opposed ends is shaped to define a predetermined gap between the opposed open ends of the tube bores.
