Patent number: 9158932Abstract: Access by a user to a database layer, is governed by modeled authorization checking implemented with authorization objects present in an overlying application layer. At design time, the authorization checking is modeled as part of an existing user interface (UI) model, which may conform to a Model, View, and Control (MVC) design pattern. Authorization objects created during design time, are stored in a meta data repository. At runtime, an authorization engine references the authorization objects and the operations supported by those authorization objects. The authorization check is thus implemented centrally in the UI framework itself using this modeled information. Embodiments avoid complexity, potential lack of internal consistency, and low visibility of conventional de-centralized authorization checking schemes that rely upon a plurality of enforcement points hard-coded at multiple locations within application logic.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Gerd Ritter, Peter Dell, Stefan Schmid

Patent number: 8955080Abstract: The disclosure generally describes computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for cloud-based single sign-on (SSO) capabilities. A computer-implemented method includes operations for identifying a first system for single sign-on capabilities, identifying a second system disparate from the first system for providing a single sign-on capability with the first system through a cloud-based SSO configuration manager, automatically accessing metadata associated with the sign-on information of the second system, the set of metadata identifying sign-on-related information for sharing at least one credential/certificate for logging in to the second system, using the metadata to obtain an authorization for a single sign-on between the first and second systems, receiving a request from the first system for authorization at the second system, and, in response to the request, providing the authorization and creating a cloud-based SSO system that includes the first and second systems.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2012Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Frank Brunswig, Peter Dell, Klaus Herter, Bare Said

Publication number: 20110161342Abstract: A system may include a database comprising stored data and a business process platform including business object metadata defining business objects representing the stored data. The business process platform may receive a query from a user to retrieve data from a first business object node of a business object, the business object representing stored data, determine whether the user is authorized to traverse all associations of a SELECT list of the query, determine whether the user is authorized to traverse all associations of a WHERE clause of the query, determine whether the user is authorized to retrieve any instances of each business object node of column specifications of the SELECT list of the query, and, if the determinations are affirmative, executing the query to retrieve a first result set.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2009Publication date: June 30, 2011Inventors: Lambert Boskamp, Cristina Buchholz, Peter Dell, Wolfgang Koch, Markus Viol, Jens Weiler

Patent number: 7148236Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds that modulate neurotransmission by promoting the release of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, dopamine and norepinephrine. More particularly, the present invention relates to thio-bridged aryl compounds that are capable of modulating acetylcholine receptors and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds. The compounds disclosed are useful for the treatment of dysfunctions of the central and autonomic nervous systems.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2002Date of Patent: December 12, 2006Assignee: Merck & Co., Inc.Inventors: Peter Charles Astles, Stephen Richard Baker, Rowena Villanueva Cube, Jose Antonio Martinez-Perez, Ana Isabel Mateo Herranz, Jean Michel Vernier, Colin Peter Dell, Sonia Gutierrez, Lourdes Prieto, Martine Keenan, Adam Jan Sanderson, Colin William Smith

Publication number: 20060201743Abstract: A support for providing quick, secure bracing and alignment for concrete forms for placements up to two feet tall. The brace is configured as a triangle and includes horizontal and vertical legs fabricated from channel stock. A turnbuckle functions as the diagonal leg of the brace and allows for adjustment of the horizontal and vertical legs. The channel stock is provided with holes of various sizes whereby the channels may be secured to different surfaces (the form and the grade surface).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2005Publication date: September 14, 2006Inventors: Peter Dell'Erba, Paul Belanger
