  • Patent number: 8580338
Abstract: A self adhesive embossed support comprising: (a) a resin film which may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset resin having at least one embossed surface for receiving a removable element where the embossed surface has a reduced surface area of contact that allows for removal of an adhesive backed element without leaving any substantial adhesive residue; and an adhesive side on the side of the resin film opposite the receiving side with the embossed surface with an adhesive having an ultimate release energy level greater than the attraction forces between the embossed film and a substrate to be removed; (b) the substrate receiving side consisting of a reduced surface area surface to facilitate release of the applied element without making use of a coated release substance or film made with materials that have inherent release characteristics that are adapted to support a removable element attachable thereto by means comprising attraction forces between the resin film and the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7892598
Abstract: A multi-use labeling support structure having a support structure that includes an embossed resin film made without using a coated release substance (e.g., release coatings such as silicone coatings, added waxes or release agents). The embossed resin film thereof has a sufficiently high Ra factor and reduced contact surface area so that it will allow release of an adhesive affixed element without leaving any substantial adhesive residue on the embossed surface when removed.

  • Publication number: 20090236844
Abstract: Tamper evident forms are provided having a transparent layer bonded to a scrambling layer. One or more coating layers may be disposed on the surface of the transparent laminar. Printed indicia on the upper surface of the form is not readable unless the transparent lamina is physically separated from the scrambling layer or if the scrambling layer is optically altered or negated. The coating layers may reveal tamper evidence if a surreptitious attempt of obtaining the printed indicia is made by physical, mechanical, electronic and/or chemical means without removing the separating the transparent lamina and the scrambling layer.

  • Publication number: 20080029217
Abstract: The invention provides a method for fastening a pre-coated paper label to a glass, plastic or metal container or surface by means of a water based composition containing at least 30% by dry weight of animal glue or natural or synthetic polymers that can be activated into an adhesive by the following steps: (a) applying a layer of a hydrophilic solid material based on at least 30% by weight on protein from animal renderings or natural or synthetic polymers to a paper label substrate to form a hydrophilic layer that acts as an adhesive layer when activated with an aqueous medium; (b) applying a minimal amount of water or water containing a cross-linking agent to the activatable hydrophilic layer to activate said activatable hydrophilic layer into an adhesive and form a fastenable paper label; (c) fastening the fastenable paper label to a glass, plastic or metal container or surface; and (d) allowing said the paper label to dry on the glass, plastic or metal container or surface.
