  • Patent number: 8231554
Abstract: A method for registering an asymmetrical femur implant having a shaft and a collar includes ascertaining a position of a shaft axis associated with the shaft and ascertaining a position of a collar axis associated with the collar. A device for registering an asymmetrical femur implant connected to at least one reference marker is provided. The device includes a detection device for detecting a spatial position of the at least one reference marker and a database in which a geometry of the asymmetrical femur implant is stored. A processor ascertains the spatial position of the asymmetrical femur implant.

  • Patent number: 8162955
Abstract: A device and method for registering a patient's hip, wherein the device includes markers and positioning elements which can be placed on characteristic points of the hip, and once placed on characteristic points of the hip, data for registering the hip can be ascertained from the position of the markers. The method includes detecting the position of the markers arranged on the device and ascertaining data for registering the hip.

  • Patent number: 8041089
Abstract: A method for registering an anatomical structure using at least one marker attached to the structure includes: obtaining a three-dimensional model of the structure via an imaging method; obtaining at least two two-dimensional recordings of the structure from different angles; and ascertaining a spatial position and location of the three-dimensional model or a position and location of the three-dimensional model in a patient coordinate system based on a matching method that uses the position of the at least one marker in the at least two two-dimensional mappings such that the three-dimensional model of the structure matches the structure.

  • Publication number: 20080045839
Abstract: A device for determining a center of rotation of a medical implant having a spherical portion includes an abutment member, and a plurality of markers arranged in a fixed location relative to the abutment member. The abutment member includes including a first spherical surface for placing the spherical portion of the medical implant, wherein a contour of the first spherical surface at least partially conforms to the spherical portion of the medical implant.

  • Patent number: 7267378
Abstract: A magneto-mechanical locking device for locking a door can be displaced in relation to a stationary frame. The locking device contains a locking element produced from a magnetizable material and disposed on the frame. The locking device further has a permanent magnet that is mounted on the door and can be twisted from a first release position, in which the locking element is subject to substantially no action of magnetic force, to a second locking position, in which the locking element is attracted by the action of magnetic force of the permanent magnet and locks the door.

  • Patent number: 6626174
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for assessing the applied air pressure during automatic respiration through positive airway pressure. The air pressure applied is varied by the device according to the invention so that at least three different pressure values can be adjusted. The corresponding respiratory gas flow is measured. On the basis of the relation of the measured respiratory gas flows to each other it is determined whether the applied air pressure is below or above an optimal air pressure or whether the applied air pressure is the optimal air pressure. The device according to the invention can be applied for adjusting the optimal air pressure in respirators used in the CPAP therapy. The device according to the invention provides the advantage of enabling an easy and reliable control of the applied air pressure.
