Abstract: A horizontal deflection winding forms a resonant retrace circuit with two series coupled retrace capacitors during a retrace interval. A controllable circuit in shunt with the second capacitor bypasses a controlled amount of retrace current from that capacitor thereby controlling the retrace pulse width. East-west raster correction, width control and pulse amplitude control are possible depending on the variables selected for control.

Abstract: The current supplied by a constant current generator is selectively applied to the unilaterally conductive input circuit of a current amplifier and otherwise flows through other unilaterally conductive means. The current amplifier provides current flow through its output circuit only when current is applied to its input circuit.

Abstract: A horizontal deflection circuit drives a load such as an ultor voltage generator which is subject to load variations. Raster distortion is corrected by a switched pincushion correction circuit. Further raster distortion due to load-dependent retrace time modulation is corrected by a corrective circuit which includes a retrace duration sensing circuit for generating a control signal representative of the horizontal retrace pulse duration. The control signal is coupled to the pincushion correction circuit so that it acts additionally in a manner to compensate the load-dependent raster size variations.

Abstract: A side pincushion correction circuit having an impedance circuit in series with the deflection coil. A controlled switch coupled in a branch of the impedance circuit is operated at times during the second half of the horizontal retrace interval which are progressively advanced during the first half of vertical interval and retarded during second half of vertical interval. Enhanced inside pincushion distortion correction is provided when the impedance circuit includes a capacitor coupled in series with the switch.
