    Abstract: A cylinder lock and key includes one or more lateral ribs extending from a flat key and formed of a shape memory material. Auxiliary lock pins arranged in a cylinder core read the shape of the lateral ribs of the key and enable the lock to be opened only when the memory material of the ribs responds to the application of energy.
