  • Patent number: 11030674
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: collecting data corresponding to factors that affect a resalable return rate of the item. By predicting the resalable return rate based on the factors and respective contribution of the factors, number of total units of the item is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20200167154
Abstract: A cognition-based system, method, and computer program product for analyzing, interpreting, reporting and recommending one or more customizations of a cloud-implemented application, by: analyzing source code for the application to identify the customizations therein; interpreting one or more requirements that resulted in the customizations; and generating an impact analysis report on the customizations and the requirements, wherein the impact analysis report recommends which of the customizations to implement for one or more clients. The source code for the application may be revised using the impact analysis report.

  • Patent number: 10614426
Abstract: Selecting an optimal date for a planned event is provided. Event input data is received that includes at least one of a location for a planned event, a range of dates for the planned event, attributes of a target audience for the planned event, and attributes of the planned event. Web search data and social media data corresponding to the received event input data are retrieved. The received event input data and the retrieved web search data and social media data that correspond to the received event input data are analyzed using natural language processing to identify a set of optimal dates to maximize attendance of the target audience at the planned event. The identified set of optimal dates for the planned event is ranked based on weights assigned to each of the attributes of the target audience and the attributes of the planned event.

  • Patent number: 10158825
Abstract: Each of segment of a recording is analyzed for complexity specifying a rate of speech at a normal playback speech. A target rate is selected at which to playback the recording, the target rate specifying a fastest optimal speed at which a particular user listening to the recording is able to comprehend the playback. During playback of the recording, a separate adjusted playback rate is selected for each of the segments to adjust the playback rate of speech from the rate of speech at the normal playback speed to the target rate.

  • Patent number: 10129199
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for ensuring that the composed message is being sent to the appropriate recipient. A message being composed by an author is detected. The intended recipient(s) to receive the composed message are identified. The composed message is then analyzed to identify one or more of the following characteristics: a topic, a greeting, a dialect, a conversation pattern and a language pattern. A profile for the intended recipient storing information regarding the characteristics of the recipient (e.g., social group, historical topics discussed, conversation pattern) is obtained. A score is generated based on the consistency between the characteristics of the analyzed message with the characteristics of the recipient obtained from the recipient's profile. A notification may then be issued to the author if the score is less than a threshold value to ensure that the intended recipient is the correct recipient to receive the composed message.

  • Patent number: 10049401
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system for dynamically optimizing inventory picking paths within a physical store. The system performs operations including receiving merchandise requests from customers, providing the merchandise requests to merchandise pickers, and receiving, from the merchandise pickers, picking data identifying picking paths executed by the merchandise pickers when picking items within the physical store to fulfill the merchandise requests. The operations further include analyzing the merchandise requests and the picking data to identify an algorithm suitable for determining an optimized picking path, and, in response to receiving a new online merchandise request, applying the algorithm to determine an optimized picking path for fulfilling the new online merchandise request. The optimized picking path is provided to at least one of the merchandise pickers.
