  • Patent number: 6539423
Abstract: A smart molecule system that may be embedded in a physical device in order to integrate information from external information sources in the physical device. The smart molecule system obtains information from external sources by connecting to a smart molecule service in a computer system through a URL to Number Transformation Algorithm (UNT) number. The UNT performs bidirectional transformation between the UNT number and a corresponding URL, thereby enabling physical devices with smart molecule to obtain information from the Web without using alphanumeric characters. Upon creating the UNT number and assigning it to an information source, a service provider distributes the UNT number to the smart molecule in order for the smart molecule to access the information stored therein.

  • Patent number: 6460031
Abstract: A system for creating and titling reports from a database by using a graphical title bar navigator to create and depict a natural language phrase to query a database and title the resulting report such that the navigator itself becomes the title, is provided. A set of parameters embodying the various tables and fields in a traditional database system is provided for selection in a menu by the user through this navigator. The user selects a first parameter through the navigator. Based on this selection, a further set of parameters is made available. Another selection is made and so on, until the specificity of the query has been achieved. Each selection that is made grammatically follows the selection before it such that the navigator depicts a complete sentence in natural language form. The query is communicated from the interface to the database management system which, in turn, accesses the data. The natural language phrase persists and becomes the title of the report.

  • Patent number: 6434564
Abstract: A browser for viewing data representing text, pictures, sounds, virtual reality worlds, links, or other objects, and organized in a hierarchical structure is provided to display and interact with links to the data. A retrieved set of data is displayed in a lens, and subsequently retrieved sets of data that are deeper in the hierarchical structure are displayed in further stacked lenses, creating a visual representation of the hierarchy. A label on each lens provides information on the data originally displayed in the lens. A user may choose to view the originally displayed contents of any lens on the screen. A user may also modify a personal hierarchical data structure comprising links to sets of data in the first hierarchical structure. In doing so, a user creates an entirely new hierarchical structure that customizes the organization of data according to personal preferences and takes advantage of natural association to reduce the number of perceived levels in the new hierarchical data structure.

  • Patent number: 4651894
Abstract: A jacket for an enameled vessel with a lower outlet nozzle is described comprising an upper weld ring welded along the outer circumference of the vessel, and comprising a lower weld ring surrounding the lower outlet nozzle, and also the jacket as such. The upper weld ring is conically tapering to its lower end, and the lower end of the lower weld ring is shaped cylindrically. Therefore, the upper end of the jacket can be easily welded with the outer side of the lower end of the upper weld ring, since the lower end of the jacket can be moved into a proper position along the cylindrical end of the lower weld ring.

  • Patent number: 4540183
Abstract: A method for production of lined gaskets or gasket inserts with which a pasty substance is arranged between the sealing surfaces (or correspondingly developed forms) and separated from these by two external layers, and hardened between the form-producing sealing surfaces. The pasty substance preferably contains a filler of quartz powder whose void fraction is filled with a 2-component artificial resin. The pasty substance can be applied with the assistance of a spray gun. A preferred form of construction of such a gasket contains a hardened material layer and a corrugated ring adjoining it, which, along an inner peripheral area are surrounded by a band-shaped shell and are arranged between two gasket insert rings, which for their part are surrounded by a customary shell of polytetrafluoroethylene or such-like.
