Patent number: 12714776Abstract: An ophthalmic surgical cartridge has a fluid pump with a pump chamber and a drive chamber which are separated by a fluid-tight and ion-tight partition element. A body fluid is suppliable to the pump chamber and a drive fluid is suppliable to the drive chamber. A deformation or change in position of a portion of the partition element is achievable with the drive fluid which increases the second volume in size and decreases the first volume in size to drain the body fluid from the pump chamber. The drive chamber has a front side wall with an edge zone in which only a single passage opening is provided, through which the drive fluid is suppliable into the drive chamber to fill the drive chamber with the drive fluid, and through which said drive fluid can be drained from the drive chamber to remove the drive fluid from the drive chamber.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2022Date of Patent: August 25, 2026Assignee: Carl Zeiss Meditec AGInventors: Steffen Kibbel, Andreas Werner, Rupert Demleitner, Peter Eichert, David Ruprecht

Patent number: 12667658Abstract: A cassette for a console of an ophthalmosurgical system for treating an eye is provided. The cassette is configured for insertion into a cassette receiving region of the console and has a fluid pump configured to deliver a treatment fluid, a tube for attachment to a handpiece, and a connection unit for a mechanical connection of a cassette-side end of the tube to a cassette housing of the cassette. The connection unit includes an attachment stub arranged on the cassette housing and a plug-in connector arranged on the cassette-side end of the tube. The attachment stub has a first through opening for the treatment fluid. The plug-in connector has a second through opening for the treatment fluid. When the plug-in connector is connected to the attachment stub in a fluid-tight manner, the plug-in connector can be rotated about a longitudinal axis of the first through opening and the second through opening.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2022Date of Patent: June 30, 2026Assignee: Carl Zeiss Meditec AGInventors: Andreas Werner, Steffen Kibbel, Giulio Saltini, Peter Eichert

Publication number: 20240350309Abstract: Disclosed is a console for an ophthalmosurgical system, having a cassette holder into which a cassette is insertable for controlling the flow of an irrigation fluid to a surgical instrument for an eye that is to be treated, and having a clamping device assigned to the cassette holder, for releasably securing a cassette to the console. The clamping device is adjustable between an open position, which permits insertion of a cassette into the cassette holder and removal of a cassette from the cassette holder, a positioning position, in which a cassette is at least partially engaged around by a pivoting of the clamping device and is positioned in the cassette holder, and a clamping position, in which a cassette is secured on the cassette holder by a linear adjustment of the clamping device. Also disclosed are an associated cassette, and ophthalmosurgical system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2022Publication date: October 24, 2024Inventors: Andreas WERNER, Rupert DEMLEITNER, Peter EICHERT, Steffen KIBBEL
