  • Publication number: 20180137218
Abstract: A system for similarity analysis-based information augmentation for a target component includes an information augmentation (IA) computer device. The IA computer device identifies a target component input variable with unavailable data. The IA computer device executes a similarity analysis function, identifying at least two test components with data for the input variable exceeding a threshold. The IA computer device generates parameter distributions for test data for each test component. The IA computer device generates model coefficients using the parameter distributions, determining a proportional mix of the parameter distributions. The IA computer device authors a predictive model configured to generate at least one predicted value for the target data for the at least one input variable for the target component by including the at least one model coefficient in the predictive model. The IA computer device generates, using the predictive model, the at least one predicted value.

  • Publication number: 20050271499
Abstract: A method for operating a rotary machine is provided. The rotary machine includes a stationary member and a rotatable member wherein the rotatable member is configured to rotate at least partially within the stationary member. The method includes determining an off-normal operating condition of the rotary machine facilitating undesirable contact between the rotatable member and the stationary member, monitoring a parameter associated with the off-normal operating condition, and preventing operation of the rotary machine while the monitored parameter is within a predetermined range.

  • Publication number: 20050060120
Abstract: A method is disclosed to monitor deflections in a turbine casing by: positioning gap sensors on a shell standard support surface and below an opposite surface of the shell arm support; each gap sensor monitoring a gap between the shell standard support surface and shell arm support; determining change in the planar slope of the shell arm support over the period of time based on the collected data, wherein changes in the slope indicate deflections in the casing.
