    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of sealed packaging containers of plastics films, using a sealing coating based on an aqueous dispersion or solution of acrylate copolymer, where the aqueous dispersion of acrylate copolymer is prepared by emulsion polymerization offrom 1 to 15% by weight of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids,from 40 to 69% by weight of alkyl esters of acrylic acid having 1-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical,from 0 to 55% by weight of alkyl esters of methacrylic acid having 1-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical and/or vinylaromatics, andfrom 0 to 25% by weight of further monomers,the sum of the monomers in each case being 100% by weight. The glass transition temperature being not more than 50.degree. C.
