  • Patent number: 11880185
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved liquid dispensing system communications are disclosed. In an example method for communicating control data between a plurality of component of a liquid dispensing system, a controller of a first component of a liquid dispensing system publishes a control data message to a composite controller associated with the plurality of component. Based on a classification of the control data message, a second component is determined to be a subscriber for the control data message. The composite controller then transmits the control data message to a controller of the second component.

    Assignee: Nordson Corporation
Inventors: Andreas Bornkessel, Bernhard Meyer, Per Winkelmann, Hartmut Crull, Andreas Ehlers, Scott Means, Dan Thompson, James Beal, Peter Estelle

  • Patent number: 7289878
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing adjustment of current-related dispensing parameters in an electric dispensing gun. A control circuit receives user-selected inputs corresponding to dispensing parameters of the gun and converts those inputs into digital signals. The digital signals are applied to a digitally programmable driver circuit associated with the liquid dispensing gun to control at least some of the dispensing parameters of the gun. Diagnostic information pertinent to the operation of the dispensing gun is provided to the operator for evaluation and adjustment.

  • Publication number: 20050244569
Abstract: A method, apparatus and program product automatically determine and set a tolerance window to verify and monitor the accuracy of an adhesive application. Statistical data is processed concurrently to determine the tolerance at a given inspection point. The system then applies adhesive per application specifications and monitors the product result based on the new statistical tolerances, which may be fed back in real time to track system hardware and adhesive pattern variances.

  • Publication number: 20050121460
Abstract: An apparatus for operating a fluid dispensing gun to dispense a fluid onto a substrate moving relative to the dispensing gun. The apparatus has a sensor that produces a sensor feedback signal in response to the fluid dispensing gun changing operating states. A control is connected to the sensor and provides first signals causing the fluid dispensing gun to change operating states. The control has a detector producing a compensation signal representing a difference between the occurrences of one of said first signals and the sensor feedback signal. The control then adjusts a subsequent first signal in response to the compensation signal. Thus, the control automatically compensates the operation of the fluid dispensing gun in real time for changes in the switching time of the fluid dispensing gun required to change its operating states.
