  • Publication number: 20080244401
Abstract: Various embodiments provide a wizard integrated as part of an application to assist a user in operating within the application. In one or more embodiments, the wizard comprises an inline portion of the application's user interface and is designed to enable a user to express a desired goal and then present one or more choices that appear to satisfy the user's desired goal. The choices are titled in a manner that obscures or abstracts away more complex choices and concepts with which a user may not be familiar. When the user selects a particular displayed choice, the wizard can present further choices which are progressively narrowed to focus on the user's desired goal, thus directing the user to a suitable feature to accomplish his or her goal and providing just-in-time conceptual information about the feature to enable the user to use that feature.

  • Patent number: 7426497
Abstract: A human assisted method of debugging training data used to train a machine learning classifier is provided. The method includes obtaining a classifier training data set. The training data set is then debugged using an integrated debugging tool configured to implement a debugging loop to obtain a debugged data set. The debugging tool can be configured to perform an estimation and simplification step to reduce data noise in the training data set prior to further analysis. The debugging tool also runs a panel of prediction-centric diagnostic metrics on the training data set, and provides the user prediction based listings of the results of the panel of prediction-centric diagnostic metrics.

  • Patent number: 4958163
Abstract: An antenna comprising a radiating element, a tuning coil having a rod located coaxially within the coil and positionable along the longitudinal axis of the tuning coil, the rod having a wiper attached which urges against the internal surface of the coil and means for positioning the rod such that with the coil connected to a radiating element and the wiper connected to a radio frequency transceiver, tuning of the antenna can be effected by control of the positioning means to adjust the position of the wiper along the tuning coil.
