    Abstract: A bone fixation clamp includes first and second clamp members, a stud, and a locking nut. The second member extends along a curve corresponding to an outer surface of a second portion of bone. The stud is receivable within the opening of the first member. The nut includes a threaded channel threadedly engaging a portion of the stud so that, when the first and second members are in the operative configuration, the nut is threadable over the stud to fix the first and second members over bone. The nut includes an anti-loosening feature which, when the nut is threaded over the stud, results in an interference with threading along the stud.

    Abstract: A method of forming an access opening through a psoas muscle to a patient's spine includes laterally inserting a stimulating dilator into the psoas muscle. The stimulating dilator has a stimulation channel formed in an outer surface thereof. An electrical pulse is transmitted into the stimulating dilator to locate a position of a nerve in the patient's psoas muscle. The stimulating dilator is laterally inserted through the psoas muscle and toward the patient's spine in a way that avoids the nerve. A stimulating probe is inserted into the stimulation channel along the outer surface of the stimulating dilator while transmitting an electrical pulse into the stimulating probe to verify the position of the nerve.

    Abstract: A cerclage system used to affix a bone includes a tension plate, a cable lock, and a cerclage cable configured to encircle the bone. The tension plate, which is engageable with the cerclage cable, is moveable between a natural shape and an insertion shape where the tension plate stores energy. The cable lock locks the cerclage cable about the bone in engagement with the tension plate. The tension plate is configured for positioning atop the bone while residing in the insertion shape. The tension plate, through an engagement thereof with the cerclage cable and upon attempted movement thereof from the insertion shape toward the natural shape, delivers the energy stored therein to the cerclage cable thereby tensioning the cerclage cable such that the cerclage system continuously compresses the bone.

Each of the offset holes includes a first hole positioned on a first side of a longitudinal axis of the plate and a second hole positioned on a second side of the longitudinal axis opposite the first side so that bone fixation elements inserted therethrough extend anterior and posterior of a prosthetic received within the femur. The first and second holes are staggered relative to one another along a length of the shaft portion and extending beyond longitudinal edges of the shaft portion.

A connection screw configured to extend through the first opening and the second opening to couple the first and second plates together. Tightening the screw translates the ramped proximal face along the ramped part, eliminating a connection gap therebetween.
