  • Publication number: 20230078386
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring and controlling the position of a bandsaw blade of a cutting machine used in sawmills are provided. The system comprises a light source, an imaging device and a processing structure for processing images captured by the imaging device and controlling the adjustment of the position of the bandsaw blade. The light source projects diffused light on a first side of the bandsaw blade through a diffuser member and the imaging device looks at a second side of the bandsaw blade. Each image captured by the imaging device shows a boundary line between a light area and a dark area, which represents the position of the cutting edge of the bandsaw blade. The position of the bandsaw blade then can be monitored and controlled for adjustment to its ideal position based on the measurement of the boundary line.

  • Patent number: 6065261
Abstract: In a construction featuring sections of light metal and light-weight composite panels joined to the sections the composite panels feature a plastic core with light weight metal outer sheets bonded to both sides. The outer sheets partially overlap a light metal connecting section which is integrally incorporated in the composite panel and interlock by virtue of fit with that section. The connecting section features connecting strips that lie as pairs on corresponding connecting strips on the section. At least one of the connecting strips is riveted to this neighboring strip. The connecting strip of the connecting section is inclined at an angle with respect to a contact plane in order to create pressure on the neighboring connecting strip, and is joined at its free edge by laser welding to the neighboring connecting strip.

  • Patent number: 5784970
Abstract: A carriage body frame with a passenger compartment having longitudinal load-bearing sections of aluminum and light-weight composite panels between the load-bearing sections is such that the composite panels feature a plastic core with aluminum outer sheets adhesively bonded to both sides. The outer sheets extend partially over an aluminum connecting section which is integral to the composite panel; and fit to this by virtue of shape. The connecting section exhibits connecting strips which rest on correspondingly arranged connecting strips on the load-bearing section. The connecting section is joined to the load-bearing section by of laser welding. The outer sheets are joined at a free edge, likewise by laser welding, to the connecting section and, in the region of at least one connecting strip, the connecting section exhibits a U-shaped longitudinal channel which acts as a trap for adhesive and over which an outer sheet passes.

  • Patent number: 4601763
Abstract: A method for the mechanical soft-soldering of heavy metals using a novel fluxing composition is described. The fluxing composition comprises up to 3% by weight of an organic acid based fluxing agent, with the fluxing agent being dissolved in an organic solvent. Succinic acid may be used as the fluxing agent and isopropanol as the solvent. The solution can contain non-ionogenic wetting agents. The solution also contains a carrier component which can be removed by the liquid solder during the soldering process and which effects a removal of the residues of the fluxing agent at the end of the soldering process. The fluxing solution is cleaned through fine-filtration prior to use. The carrier component comprises an ester or an organic acid, said carrier component being liquid at the soldering temperature. Through the use of the carrier component, the formation of bridges and lugs is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4598858
Abstract: For protecting the surface of a soldering bath a covering means is used which comprises two phases (3,4), which are placed one on top of the other, are not soluble in each other and are liquid at the soldering temperature. The bottom phase (3) is produced by spreading over the top phase (4), which consists of a liquid synthetic polyalphaolefin, a powder of a chemically active component of sebacic acid and/or suberic acid which is solid at room temperature and liquid at the soldering temperature.
