  • Publication number: 20080006750
Abstract: A bottom anchor assembly (10) for a substantially vertically-oriented elongate safety line (70) comprises safety line gripping means (20), safety line tensioning means (80) and a bracket (50). The gripping means (20) includes a manually adjustable clamp (20) and the tensioning means (80) includes a hollow shaft (40) through which the safety line (70) passes. The hollow shaft (40) is externally screw-threaded and carries the load-setting means (80) on its screw-threaded portion (41). The load-setting means (80) is adapted to bear against the underside of the bracket (50) for adjusting the safety line tension to a predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20060124391
Abstract: A traveller for a fall arrest system comprises a body having a passage therethrough, a slot narrower than the passage linking the passage to the exterior of the body, and a load member suitable to attach the traveller to fall safety equipment. The slot is formed between an inner gate extending outwardly relative to the passage and an outer gate extending inwardly relative to the passage, the inner gate and outer gate having respective opposed convex surfaces defining the slot between them. The traveller is arranged such that when the traveller is mounted on a support the inner gate and outer gate lie on a common radius of respective concentric circles about the support.

  • Publication number: 20050269160
Abstract: A fall arrest device for use on an elongate support comprises: chassis means having safety support retaining means to retain an elongate support whilst allowing movement of the device therealong, and including a sliding element for slidably engaging said elongate support; first and second locking cam means for locking the device to the elongate support in a fall arrest situation; first and second link means; and attaching means for attaching personal safety means to the device and transmitting a load from the personal safety device to said link means; in which said first and second locking cam means comprise respective first and second cam elements each arranged for rotation about a respective first axis relative to the chassis and able to move between a first locking position in which the cam element traps the elongate support between itself and the sliding element and a second released position in which the cam element does not trap the elongate support.
