Abstract: An apparatus for removing sheets from a transport path of a sheet-processing machine for depositing the sheets onto an auxiliary stack, includes a delivery drum for removing the sheets from the transport path upstream of a main stack, as viewed in the transport direction, and depositing the sheets onto an auxiliary stack in a manner which is retarded by using a suction belt transport system and a suction belt brake system which is associated with the latter. The suction belt transport system and the suction belt brake system are disposed above the auxiliary stack.
