    Abstract: A device is usable for feeding a material web to a press unit of a web-fed rotary press having a reel carrier which carries a material reel and which is mounted next to the machine line. At least one deflection rod is arranged in the web transport path between the reel carrier and the press unit. The deflection rod is angled at 45° with respect to the transport direction of the web which wraps onto it. In at least a wraparound angular region of the material web, the deflection rod has outlet openings which are configured as micro-openings for the passage of a pressurized fluid. The mean diameter of these micro openings is, at most 500 ?m. When the material web is moving about the deflection rod, the micro openings are provided with pressurized fluid on a length which is greater than the width of the region which is covered by the material web which wraps around it.

    Abstract: A device is usable to feed at least one material web and/or at least one strand that is comprised of several material webs into a folding device. A superstructure is part of the device, as is a former that can be displaced in relation to the material web, and a transverse cutter which is usable to separate the material web or webs into individual products. At least one guide rail is provided in the superstructure and carries a retaining device that can be displaceably guided on the path of travel of the material web through the superstructure. A leading edge of at least one of the material webs can be attached to the retaining device. The guide rail passes the former and includes at least one flexible guide rail section whose form can be altered. In particular, the length of the flexible guide rail section can be adjusted in the region adjoining the former.

    Abstract: A securing device for a printed carrier in a printing press is actuated in case of the tearing of the printed carrier. The paper web or printed carrier can be clamped between an inflatable hose and a stationary counter clamping device. The hose has a non-operating position which is out of the path of web travel, and can be rapidly inflated to its operating position if a paper web break is sensed. An intermediate, partially inflated position can also be attained by the hose.
