  • Patent number: 7561710
Abstract: The invention concerns a communication device with a casing enclosing a microphone and signal processor, whereby the casing comprises at least a first and a second part and a packing material provided between the first and the second part, and whereby further the microphone orifice is provided between the first and the second part and interrupting the packing material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 22, 2004
Date of Patent: July 14, 2009
    Assignee: Oticon A/S
    Inventor: Peter Frederiksen
  • Patent number: 7181030
Abstract: The invention concerns a hearing aid with at least one primary sound to electric converting transducer converting sounds in the environment into electrical signals and a signal processing unit for amplifying the electrical signal according to the needs of the user and an electrical to sound transducer for receiving the amplified electrical signal and delivering a sound signal to the ear wherein at least one further sound to electrical transducer is provided. The said further transducer has a sensitivity to wind noise which is smaller than the sensitivity to wind noise of the primary transducer and further the signal processing unit has means for detecting the level of wind noise in the signal from the primary sound to electric converting transducer. According to the invention also selecting means are provided for selecting the signal to be amplified from either the primary—or the at least one further sound to electrical transducer.

  • Publication number: 20040071305
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a communication device, which is carried in or partly in the ear channel of the user. The device has a casing comprising a shell part shaped to fit the ear and ear channel of the user and a faceplate. The shell and the faceplate are joined to enclose the electronic parts of the communication device, whereby markings on the faceplate indicate the orientation of an anatomical structure of the ear. The markings are used to correctly orient shell and faceplate with respect to each other before joining the two, in the absence of marking of the horizontal line in the ear impression and thereby in the shell. The invention further comprises a faceplate for use in the manufacture of a communication device carried in or partly in the ear channel of the user.

  • Publication number: 20030089548
Abstract: The invention relates to a hearing aid for at least partly insertion into the car canal, the hearing aid comprising a housing, a faceplate, a battery drawer, a microphone having directional characteristics, where the microphone comprises a microphone housing having a number of surfaces each surrounded by at least three edges, each edge forming a boundary towards another surface, where two inlet openings are arranged with a predetermined distance in the same surface of the microphone housing, where the microphone is mounted at least partly in the faceplate, where the inlet openings for the sound to the directional microphone are located embedded in the faceplate. The invention further relates to a faceplate and a sealing element for sealing between a faceplate and a transducer.
