  • Patent number: 8341735
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for increasing the security for a computer or server adapted for communication with a communication network, for example the Internet. The method for automatically controlling access between the computer and the communication network arranges the access to be dependent on user activity. The user activity is determined by monitoring signal activity between the computer and at least one input/output device adapted for communication with the computer, and the user activity being defined as detection of signal activity between the computer and the input/output device. Access to the communication network is only allowed if user activity is occurring or has occurred in a predetermined time period.

    Assignee: AB Snalle
Inventors: Gunnar Larson, Peter Fuks, Jorgen Appelgren
  • Publication number: 20100274906
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system being adapted to be connected to at least one computer. The system comprises: at least one tracking surface, and a pointing device adapted to navigate on the at least one computer when the pointing device is moved across the at least one tracking surface, which defines a first zone and a second zone. The system further comprises a detection unit which detects the zone the pointing device is present in, and a control unit adapted to activate a function when present in the first zone.

  • Patent number: 6456228
Abstract: A passive transponder comprises an antenna (1, 2) in the form of a metal body with two main surfaces and a diode (3) connected between the main surfaces and a dielectric (10) surrounding the antenna. A characteristic of the invention is that the impedance of the antenna is adapted to the impedance of the diode by matching unit (13, 14). A transmission line (8) is used as the matching unit. Another characteristic for the invention is that the transmission line is surrounded by a dielectric (10) made of plastic. Yet another characteristic of the invention is that the antenna is surrounded by a dielectric made of plastic which reduces the influence of the surroundings on the near field of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 4331957
Abstract: A transponder adapted to be carried on the body of a person for use in locating avalanche victims is designed for cooperation with a search-transmitter and includes a receiver having a passive non-linear element which, by distortion, produces a higher harmonic from the fundamental frequency received from the search-transmitter and includes metal parts which are connected to the non-linear element and function as a receiver/transmitter antenna tuned to the frequency employed, whereby the side of the transponder facing the human body is covered with a dielectric layer the thickness of which is adjusted in accordance with a transmitted frequency of 1000 MHz and in accordance with the dielectric constant of the layer, and whereby the size of the antenna is adjusted in accordance with the dielectric constant.
