  • Publication number: 20240074640
Abstract: A cannula system and method for accessing a blood mass in the brain. The system comprises a cannula with a camera mounted on the proximal end of the cannula with a view into the cannula lumen and the surgical field below the lumen. A prism, reflector or other suitable optical element is oriented between the camera and the lumen of the cannula to afford the camera a view into the cannula while minimizing obstruction of the lumen. The system may also include an obturator with a small diameter shaft and a large diameter tip which is optically transmissive, so that a surgeon inserting or manipulating the assembly can easily see that the obturator tip is near brain tissue (which is white) or blood (which is red).

  • Patent number: 5570976
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of bolts, bars, wires, anchors and similar devices used for example as ground or rock support, reinforcement and anchors in geological environments such as mines, tunnels, etc. It also relates to stabilization and/or reinforcing applications for other geological ore earthwork applications. The invention is a cable bolt comprising at least two wires, and being adopted to have a nut threaded directly onto at least one of the wires. When the cable bolt is a multistrand (steel) cable, the outer wires (11) have a thread (13) formed upon them for a nut to engage. Alternatively, instead of a thread, a pattern of deformations could be used, then a nut or other member being locked onto these deformations. Preferably, the threads or deformations are rolled into the wires so that material is not removed and work hardening occurs.

  • Patent number: 3983077
Abstract: A process for making barium titanate based materials and the like of positive temperature coefficient of resistivity having desirable and precisely predetermined thermal and electrical properties utilizes low cost starting materials and convenient and economical processing steps. Titanium dioxide powder is placed in suspension in an aqueous medium with dissolved compounds of barium and other selected materials while the pH of the medium is regulated within selected limits, whereby barium and other selected ions are adsorbed in predetermined ratio by suspended titanium dioxide particles and whereby water-soluble contaminants in the starting materials are placed in solution. An aqueous carbonate solution is then commingled with the titanium dioxide suspension in a controlled manner to form a precipitate which incorporates titanium dioxide and desired relative proportions of carbonates of barium and other selected materials in a homogenous mixture.

  • Patent number: 3962487
Abstract: Ceramic semiconductor elements having ohmic contact surfaces are made by dispersing bentonite clay in a bonding composition consisting of a metal powder in a phosphate-chromate-metal ion solution to form a thixotropic coating material, by screen printing the coating material onto limited surface areas of ceramic semiconductor bodies, and by heating the coated bodies for curing the coating material to form adherent ohmic contact layers on the limited surface areas of the ceramic bodies.
