  • Publication number: 20230405303
Abstract: Catheter blood pumps with an inlet cage, cannula, impeller assembly and a multiple lumen shaft that is coupled to a that provides connectors that connect to external components. First and second fiberoptic pressure sensors extend inside and along a length of the multi-lumen catheter. The first fiberoptic pressure sensor is longer than the second fiberoptic pressure sensor and extends longitudinally distal to the multi-lumen catheter to terminate at a distal end portion of the cannula, proximal to the inlet cage. The sensor heads of the first fiberoptic pressure sensor and the second fiberoptic pressure sensor are exposed to local environmental conditions. The sensor head of the second fiberoptic pressure sensor can terminate proximal to the impeller cage windows. A pressure differential identified by a difference in pressure provided by the first and second fiberoptic pressure sensors can be used to confirm proper placement during intravascular placement into the heart.

  • Patent number: 11779401
Abstract: Methods for surgical navigation use a trajectory frame/guide assembly for use with surgical navigation systems that includes a base having a patient access aperture formed therein. A yoke is mounted to the base and is rotatable about a roll axis. A platform is mounted to the yoke and is rotatable about a pitch axis and interchangeably holds a single lumen or multi-lumen guide array and a device guide. A device guide can be rotated to align an access channel with a desired lumen path. No x-y actuators are required and a virtual guide array may also or alternatively be used to identify a desired open channel in the device guide for the preferred trajectory path.

  • Publication number: 20230310799
Abstract: Surgical catheters with sufficient flexibility to deflect in response to brain shift in vivo while remaining in a target trajectory to a target in the brain have an elongate body and an exposed internal distal tip. The elongate bodies can be 0.5-10 feet long and the exposed distal tip can be provided as a tip end of a fused silica transfer tube that extends through the elongate body. The surgical catheters can be affixed to a skull using a bolt with a through channel and a bolt nut with a through channel.
