  • Patent number: 4094039
Abstract: A connector clip for use in connecting a bayonet type windshield wiper arm to the superstructure of a windshield wiper assembly has a main body which includes means for connecting the clip body to the windshield wiper superstructure and a sleeve which is adapted to operatively engage and retain the windshield wiper bayonet arm. This sleeve has a top wall and an axially extended recess formed therein below the top wall for receiving the bayonet arm in a close fit. A spring mounting wall is included in the clip body adjacent the recess and has a slot formed therein in which a leaf spring element is mounted. The spring is located along the recess below the inserted bayonet arm and has a tab formed thereon for engagement in a recess on the lower side of the bayonet arm to form a double latch. The spring also includes means for cooperating with the spring mounting wall to prevent removal of the spring from the clip body.
