Patent number: 8253636Abstract: An improved antenna array (100) comprises a set of array elements (102 a-p) electromagnetically coupled to a transmission line. The transmission line comprises a live conductor (122) and a return conductor, and the live conductor (122) is terminated by a direct connection to the return conductor. An input signal fed to the live conductor (122) is radiated by the array elements (102 a-p) and the antenna array (100) is arranged such that any portion of the input signal reaching the termination is reflected at the termination so as to form a reflected signal that superimposes with the input signal to produce a predetermined farfield radiation pattern.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2006Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Bae Systems PLCInventors: Peter Gardner, Peter Scott Hall, Ee Lee, Teck Yiau Lee, Bruno Pirollo, David Gunton

Publication number: 20050022364Abstract: A compound mounting bracket for mounting a safe to a surface is disclosed. The bracket comprises a mounting plate and mounting cover that is adapted to cooperatively attach to the mounting plate. The mounting plate is adapted for securable attachment to a mounting surface and has a generally planar surface with a defined perimeter. The mounting plate includes a plurality of apertures in the planar surface and a plurality of tabs extending outwardly from the perimeter. The mounting cover is comprised of a generally planar top surface with a side wall depending therefrom. The sidewall includes a plurality of detents disposed at predetermined positions about a bottom edge. Each of the detents is positioned to cooperatively engage one of the plurality tabs on the mounting plate. The top surface of the mounting cover also includes a plurality of apertures, at least one of which is disposed in alignment with at least one of the plurality of apertures in the mounting plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2004Publication date: February 3, 2005Inventor: Peter Gardner

Patent number: 4839577Abstract: A current-controlling circuit for producing either a constant current, independent of supply potential or a current which decreases with increasing supply potential and vice-versa. Three devices are connected together at a point such that the current in the first device and the current in the third device form the current in the second device. The current flowing in the first device is a mirror of the current flowing in a fourth device. When the supply potential increases, the increase in current in the first device at least equals the increase in current in the second device, so that the current in the third device does not increase. If the current in the third device decreases with increasing supply potential, it may be mirrored into subsequent devices which may then pass a constant current. The circuit may include an amplifying current mirror so that any change in current flowing in the first device is an amplified version of the change in current in the fourth device.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1988Date of Patent: June 13, 1989Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Peter A.
