  • Patent number: 10487491
Abstract: A device that mitigates urine backsplash in most types of conventional urinals. The device includes low-impact angled plates (or fins) to facilitate deflection and mitigate splash back from urine streams. In an aspect, a plurality of flexible or rigid plates are angled towards a user (e.g., sixty degrees), which allows for the urine stream to plane or glide across the respective plate surfaces and not splash back on the user.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2018
Date of Patent: November 26, 2019

  • Patent number: 9600418
Abstract: Certain embodiments herein relate to using tagless access buffers (TABs) to optimize energy efficiency in various computing systems. Candidate memory references in an L1 data cache may be identified and stored in the TAB. Various techniques may be implemented for identifying the candidate references and allocating the references into the TAB. Groups of memory references may also be allocate to a single TAB entry or may be allocated to an extra TAB entry (such that two lines in the TAB may be used to store L1 data cache lines), for example, when a strided access pattern spans two consecutive L1 data cache lines. Certain other embodiments are related to data filter cache and multi-issue tagless hit instruction cache (TH-IC) techniques.

  • Publication number: 20070186504
Abstract: A device for tying and centering reinforcing bars within a cell of a concrete block. A housing adapted to be positioned adjacent the cell contains a tie, which extends from the housing. The tie includes a loop, a free end, at least one centering portion that engages the housing at one end and the loop at an opposite end, and teeth. The at least once centering portion is adapted to position the loop substantially within the center of the cell when the loop is closed around the reinforcing bars. When the free end is pulled, the loop is closed and substantially centered within the cell. Either the housing or the loop itself include a ratchet portion having teeth, which engage the teeth of the tie and hold the loop in a closed position after the free end of the tie is pulled.

  • Publication number: 20060192034
Abstract: An orifice shield for distributing water flowing from an orifice in a pipe and preventing blockage of the orifice. The orifice shield includes a housing including a cage, the cage being defined by a first plate joined to a second plate via fins, the fins being joined via a plurality of lateral members, the cage including a plurality of openings or slots defined between the fins and the lateral members, the first plate including a central shaft extending downwardly toward the second plate. A freely rotating fan is mounted on the shaft. The fan is adapted to evenly distribute the water flowing from the orifice via the openings or slots. The housing may also be a box housing including a plurality of openings or slots defined therein. The housing includes a first clamp and a second clamp that are adapted to be removably secured to the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20050004872
Abstract: Converting electronic files comprising financial transaction data for supporting international electronic financial transactions. A gateway financial institution that processes electronic payments can organize files comprising international financial transactions according to the destination country. The gateway financial institution can transmit the organized transaction files to an interface that is coupled to the computing systems of foreign financial institutions. The interface can convert the transaction files from the format of the originating financial institution to the format of the receiving financial institution. The converted transaction files can then be forwarded to the respective foreign financial institutions. The interface can also transmit additional data associated with the transaction files to support settlement of the transactions.
