Abstract: A display system for environment regions of a vehicle having at least an image capturing unit, which is arranged on the vehicle in a housing that protrudes outward from the vehicle, a processing unit, a display unit providing and outputting vehicle environment information captured by the image capturing unit to the driver of the vehicle, and a capturing device for capturing the position of the image capturing unit, thereby enabling the driver to identify the position of the image capturing unit with regard to the vehicle environment.

Abstract: A display system for a commercial vehicle, having a capturing unit for acquiring image data of the vehicle environment, a calculation unit and a display unit for displaying an image to be displayed with an image portion. The calculation unit is adapted to carry out a modification of the image data acquired by the capturing unit and to supply the modified image data to the display unit for display. The modification uses overlaying or superimposing of an overlay portion on the image portion of the image to be displayed, wherein the overlay portion is positioned within or directly adjacent to the image portion, and wherein the image portion further includes a measuring portion. An image characteristic of the image portion is acquired in the measuring portion. The calculation unit is adapted to determine an overlay portion characteristic dependent on the acquired image characteristic.

The camera has a housing, at least one optical element disposed within the housing, a group of circuit boards disposed within the housing and including at least one circuit board. The group of circuit boards has at least one active circuit for executing a direct camera function. The camera further comprises at least one heating element adapted for heating the group of circuit boards, the optical elements, and/or the housing, wherein the at least one heating element is directly attached to one of the circuit boards of the group of circuit boards.
