    Abstract: A method and system are described for adjusting displaying of images to be displayed on a display system. The method is suitable for display systems comprising at least one hardware feature (f1, f2, f3) influencing the display uniformity of the displaying of images, such as e.g. a defect pixel, seams, variations in positions of hardware components, etc. The method comprises obtaining pixelated image information to be displayed on a display system (100), and adjusting the displaying thereof by applying a distributed variation correction signal to the displaying of the pixelated image information. Such a distributed variation correction signal thereby takes into account the at least one hardware feature (f1, f2, f3) of said display system (100) so as to influence the perception of the display uniformity.

No obstructions such as dirt or dust can attach to the end surface of the light integrating system (10) because the end surface is formed by a virtual surface, i.e. a surface which is not physically present. The light integrating system (10) according to the present invention may be used in projection systems, in lighting systems or in illumination systems.
