  • Patent number: 7861572
Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for producing tubes that are at least partially profiled on their interior and preferably on their exterior from a hollow cylindrical blank (3), using a mechanical cold forming method, wherein the end of the blank (3) that is not to be machined (3?) is fed to a clamping device (10). The blank (3) is then secured in the clamping device (10) and a mandrel (2) is subsequently inserted into the end of region (3) of the blank (3) that is to be machined. A lance (8) is guided in the mandrel so that it can be coaxially displaced in a longitudinal direction and the free end of the lance (8?) can be introduced into the clamping device (10). The tip (8?) of the lance (8) is then brought into a positive fit with the clamping device (10) in the axial direction of the blank (3) and the mandrel (2), together with the clamping device (10) and the blank (3) is guided axially through a fixed machining point (6).

  • Patent number: 7562549
Abstract: A device and method for manufacture of workpieces having defined profiling. A device includes an axially moveable workpiece holder and at least one forming tool. There is a first drive structured and arranged to intermittently rotate the workpiece holder about a longitudinal axis of a workpiece held in the workpiece holder, and a second drive, separate from the first drive, structured and arranged to rotate the at least one forming tool to act periodically on the workpiece. The device also includes an electronic control operably connected to the first drive and the second drive, which controls intermittent rotational movement of the workpiece holder based upon the second drive. The at least one forming tool includes profiled wheels or rollers that are driven to continually rotate along a circular orbit that is oriented parallel or obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20070163320
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing cylindrical workpieces (1) having defined profiled sections. The device comprises a workpiece holder (2) that is axially displaceable and intermittently rotates about a longitudinal axis (Z), and shaping tools (9; 12) that periodically act upon the workpiece. The inventive device is characterized by at least one drive (11) for the intermittent rotation of the workpiece holder (2), which is mechanically separate from the drive (8) for the shaping tools (9; 12). The drive (11) is linked with an electronic control which controls the intermittent rotational movement depending on the drive (8) of the shaping tools (9; 12). The invention allows to adjust any intermittent movement relative to the position and angle of the workpiece (1), thereby contributing to a precise and especially rapid processing of the workpiece (1).

  • Patent number: 6345526
Abstract: A punching and stamping machine has a movably guided die plate frame, in which an eccentric shaft for the drive of the die is simultaneously disposed. The die plate frame is moved by means of a plate cam which is directly coupled with the eccentric shaft As a result, a forcibly guided movement is achieved between the die and the die plate which, with respect to the workpiece to be machined, is superimposed such that the die carries out only minimal movements with respect to the workpiece and therefore, particularly in the case of a hollow-cylindrical workpiece, permits the machining from the interior side to the exterior. As a result of this forced guidance, very high operating speeds can advantageously be achieved with a high precision.
