  • Publication number: 20090198505
Abstract: An interactive path planning system supports a designer's efforts to manually optimize routes for cost, constructability, environmental considerations, and the like. This permits a user to manually seek optimizations of a route cost that are not be available through automated cost optimization algorithms and techniques. Moreover, this may permit the user to experiment with alternate route paths while being provided with cost information via the interface. The interface may provide cost calculations based upon the true route geometry that will be employed to physically construct the route, rather than a computational model employed during an interactive design process.

  • Publication number: 20080215390
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to path determination for transport system infrastructure paths. In embodiments, methods and systems are provided for identifying alternative paths and determining optimized transport system paths for projects. The methods and systems may involve providing a client-based application having a GUI that presents a plurality of constraints that relate to a project, a server-based application for calculating the costs of a plurality of potential paths for presenting a subset of paths with associated cost data, and determining optimized paths for at least one of a pipeline, a conveyor, a canal, a multipurpose utility pipe, and a telecommunication line.

  • Publication number: 20070061274
Abstract: This disclosure relates to path analysis, determination, and optimization for pipelines. The methods, systems, and computer executable code disclosed herein contemplate the evaluation of numerous aspects and constraints of an area around a potential pipeline path in a project. Further the methods, systems, and computer executable code may be deployed in a variety of platforms including various stand-alone and client-server computer configurations.

  • Publication number: 20060020789
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to providing control for a secure infrastructure of a path determination system. In embodiments, methods and systems are provided for controlling objects in a computer-based system. The methods and systems may involve storing an object in the system, the object being related to data about the path or project, assigning an encryption key for each aspect of the system or object desired to be controlled, encrypting each aspect of the system or object desired to be controlled, requiring entry of the encryption key corresponding to each aspect of the system or object desired to be released from the control, and distributing the encryption key.

  • Publication number: 20060020430
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a client-based application and server-based application for providing optimized corridors and alignments, routes, and or paths subject to a plurality of constraints. In embodiments, methods and systems are provided for identifying alternative paths and determining optimized paths for projects. The methods and systems may involve providing a client-based application having a GUI that presents a plurality of constraints that relate to a project, and a server-based application for calculating the costs of a plurality of potential paths for presenting a subset of paths with associated cost data.

  • Publication number: 20050268245
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a client-based graphical user interface for infrastructure path determination. In embodiments, methods and systems are provided for a user interface and remote infrastructure planning. Methods and systems provide a user interface for allowing a user to select an object that relates to the determination of a path and upon selection of the object, triggering an action of a path determination system. Methods and systems are provided for establishing a connection to a portable computer device, accessing an infrastructure model remotely from the portable computer device, and interacting with the infrastructure model using the portable computer device.
