  • Patent number: 12263256
Abstract: A medical device and method configured to disinfect a skin surface, the device comprising a power source that provides electric power, a light emitting source that uses electric power received from the power source to disinfect the skin surface, and a switch that is configured to be operated by user action, wherein upon activation of the switch, the electric power from the power source is received by the light emitting source to emit visible light and disinfect the skin surface.

  • Patent number: 12186544
Abstract: An injection assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A sleeve (32) is positioned on the syringe barrel and needle hub for sliding between a first position where the needle is covered and a second position exposing the needle. The sleeve (32) is biased to the extended position to cover the needle. The sleeve has a distal end (38) and a proximal end (40). During use, the syringe is positioned against the skin of the patient so that distal end of the sleeve contacts the skin of the patient before the needle so that lateral or angular force applied relative to the surface of the skin is absorbed by the sleeve to inhibit sliding of the sleeve and resist bending of the needle during insertion.

  • Publication number: 20220296821
Abstract: A pen needle is disclosed for coupling to a delivery device and piercing a septum on the delivery device. The pen needle includes a collar having a side wall, an open proximal end, and a distal end having a coupling member, a needle hub rotatable independently of the collar, where the proximal end of the needle hub has a coupling member coupled to the distal end of the collar. The collar rotates independently from the needle hub so that the collar screws onto the threaded end of the delivery device while the needle hub does not rotate and the needles advance to pierce a septum of the delivery device without rotating the hub and the needles.
