  • Patent number: 7852855
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling TCP/IP access includes receiving a request from a requestor for data transmission over a satellite communication channel, determining whether the request for data transmission has collided with a separate request for data transmission, if the request for data transmission has collided with a separate request for data transmission, then accepting the request for data transmission, else, temporarily denying the access to the satellite communication channel, determining the priority of the requestor and the number of users on the satellite communications channel, determining the access to the satellite communication channel of the requestor based on the priority of the requestor and the number of users on the satellite communication channel, and monitoring access to the satellite communication channel based on the priority of the requestor and the number of users on the satellite communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20050189115
Abstract: A method and system of subsea intervention comprises lowering one or more assemblies of intervention equipment into the sea. Underwater marine units (such as remote operated vehicles or small submarines) may be employed to connect the assemblies to each other and to the subsea wellhead equipment. The subsea wellhead equipment includes a carrier line spool (e.g., coiled tubing spool, wireline spool, slickline spool) and equipment to inject a carrier line from the carrier line spool into the subsea well. The carrier line spool can be located underwater, such as on the sea floor or positioned above the subsea wellhead equipment.

  • Patent number: 6927637
Abstract: An exemplary tuning circuit is coupled to, a voltage controlled oscillator. The tuning circuit comprises a lock detect monitoring circuit, a VTUNE monitoring circuit and an autotuner circuit. The lock detect monitoring circuit is coupled to a phase locked loop of the voltage controlled oscillator and is configured to determine a state of the phase locked loop. The VTUNE monitoring circuit is coupled to a loop filter of the voltage controlled oscillator and is configured to determine the fine tuning voltage generated by the loop filter. The autotuner circuit is connected to the lock detect monitoring circuit and the VTUNE monitoring circuit and is configured to provide coarse tuning of the voltage controlled oscillator based on the fine tuning voltage and the state of the phase locked loop.

  • Publication number: 20050155764
Abstract: A system and method is provided for utilizing both a wellbore completion and a formation treatment system. The formation treatment system comprises a bypass that directs well treatment fluid around the wellbore completion. The bypass protects the wellbore completion from potentially corrosive or erosive well treatment fluids which, in turn, allows the wellbore completion to remain downhole during the introduction of well treatment fluids.

  • Publication number: 20020173345
Abstract: Upon establishment of a call, a screen of a mobile station automatically enters into a writing-surface mode. A user of the mobile station is able to write on the screen in the writing-surface mode during the call without having to navigate a menu or other navigation system. The user can cause the screen to enter the writing-surface mode by activating a button or the like and can also press a switch button or the like in order to use the screen in writing-surface mode in either a shared or a non-shared mode. In the shared mode, notes written on the screen while in writing-surface mode can be wirelessly transmitted to another mobile station involved in the call. While in the non-shared mode, notes written while in writing-surface mode are not wirelessly transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20020010007
Abstract: A method and apparatus for saving and storing data in a data record of an application into a memory storage in a portable device in a wireless system. The method comprises the steps of detecting a mode change from a second mode to a first mode during edit view, saving and storing data from the edit view as a response to said mode change from a second mode to a first mode during edit view. According to an aspect of the invention said mode change can be executed by changing a flip coverage of the device from open to closed.

  • Patent number: 5335542
Abstract: A borehole tool having adjacently located fluid injection/withdrawal apparatus and an electromagnetic measurement apparatus is provided. The electromagnetic measurement apparatus can be an imaging apparatus for helping set the tool in desired locations for permeability testing via fluid injection or withdrawal. In a second mode, during fluid injection or withdrawal, and if desired, before and/or after injection or withdrawal, a plurality of electromagnetic measurements (images) are made. Based on the electromagnetic and hydraulic measurements, and a model which interrelates the measurements, determinations are made as to various characteristics of the formation, including effective permeabilities. Related methods for utilizing the tool and for treating the data in an integrated fashion are also set forth.

  • Patent number: 5239455
Abstract: A charge pump circuit for a frequency/phase comparator in a phase locked loop oscillator arrangement, in which current sources utilizing only npn transistors provide currents of equal magnitude but of opposite sense to an input of an operational amplifier, the output of this amplifier charge-pumping a capacitor to control the frequency of oscillation of an oscillator. The use of npn transistors enables higher current levels and higher speed switching compared to circuits including pnp transistors.
