  • Publication number: 20110098383
Abstract: A composite is formed from at least one base material and at least one filler powder mixture dispersed in the base material. The filler powder mixture has a filler powder fraction and at least one further filler powder fraction. The filler powder fraction has an average powder particle diameter (D50) selected from the range from 1 ?m to 100 ?m and the total proportion of the filler powder mixture in the composite (degree of fill) is above 50% by weight. The further filler powder fraction has a further average powder particle diameter selected from the range from 1 nm to 50 nm and the proportion of the further filler powder fraction in the filler powder mixture is selected from the range from 0.1% by weight to 50% by weight. A high degree of fill can be achieved at a low viscosity in the presence of nanosize filler particles. The composite is particularly suitable as embedding composition (pourable resin system).

  • Patent number: 7846853
Abstract: An electrical insulation paper that is made of mica flakelets (22), having an average size range of 0.01 to 0.05 mm in their thinnest dimension, hexagonal boron nitride (26), which has an average size range of 10 to 1,000 nm in their longest dimension, and a resin matrix. The mica flakelets and the hexagonal boron nitride are mixed and formed into a paper (17), and the resin is added to the paper after formation, the ratio by weight of the hexagonal boron nitride to the mica flakelets is directly proportional to the average size of the hexagonal boron nitride compared to the average size of the mica flakelets, within an adjustment factor.

  • Publication number: 20090286951
Abstract: The invention relates to epoxy resins having an extremely low content of chlorine, particularly a low content of organically bound chlorine. The invention also relates to a production method during which total chlorine contents of less than 100 ppm in the epoxy resin are achieved by extracting solid epoxy resin particles, optionally after a prior comminution and/or reprecipitation. The use of these low-chlorine epoxy resins in the fields of electronics and/or electrical engineering considerably reduces the components' susceptibility to corrosion.
