  • Patent number: 6908020
Abstract: A device for isolating strips conveyed next to another in lengthwise direction is constituted by at least one separating unit which is extended parallel to a lengthwise axis. Each strip is assigned to one guide and it is inserted and guided by the guides in a plane running essentially parallel to the lengthwise axis of the separating unit and different for neighboring guides. When the strips are inserted into the guides, the guides are adjustable from a starting position, in which the strips have a slight lateral interval, into a separable position, in which a larger interval exists between the strips.

  • Publication number: 20030146258
Abstract: A device is disclosed for isolating strips (S1-S12) conveyed next one another in their lengthwise direction, particularly metal strips, having at least one separating unit (N) extending in an axial direction (X), in which each strip (S1-S12) is assigned one guide (F10-F25), which guides each of the strips (S1-S12), inserted in it using positive fit, in a different plane (E1, E2), running essentially parallel to the lengthwise axis (L) of the separating unit (N), than each of the guides (F10-F25) positioned neighboring it. The isolating device disclosed is constructed simply and allows reliable, time-saving isolation of the strips. In addition, advantageous uses of such a device are indicated.

  • Patent number: 6206979
Abstract: A process and apparatus for surface treatment of strip material with liquids, particularly for pickling rolled metal strip, guides the strip through the shallow treatment bath where the metal strip is treated. The treatment liquid medium is sprayed upwardly through nozzles between the bottom of the bath and the strip to be treated, causing a carrying and pulling effect which prevents the strip from contacting the bottom of the bath and prevents the strip from being lifted up from the bath. A plurality of spaced apart spray nozzles introduce a spray of liquid upwardly into the liquid bath to produce alternating high and low pressure zones causing the strip material to travel in an oscillating path.

  • Patent number: 5853495
Abstract: A device for surface treatment of continuously moving strip, particularly for pickling rolled metal strip, includes a trough-shaped tank containing a treating liquid bath. The trough includes a panel mounted therein and submerged in the liquid, and aligned approximately parallel to the strip. The panel divides the treatment bath into a treatment area underneath the panel through which the strip being treated passes and a return flow sector for the liquid above the panel. The treating liquid is collected in the return flow sector at a discharge end of the trough and is directed along the return flow sector to a receiving end of the trough.
