Abstract: A first instance of a first XML document is served by a document server component of a document system. An annotation system that is functionally independent of the document system semantically analyzes content and structure of the first instance of the first XML document to identify a first instance of a first target for first annotation content, wherein the first target is not text. The annotation system also generates target locating data for locating a second instance of the first target in a second instance of the first XML document. The annotation system stores the target locating data.

Abstract: An annotation system includes first annotation data for annotating a manifestation of a first instance of a first XML document. The first instance of the first XML document is served by a document system. The first annotation data includes a first XML document identifier for the first XML document. The first annotation data is uniquely identified by a first annotation data identifier. The document system is configured to respond to a request containing the first XML document identifier with a manifestation of a second instance of the first XML document. The annotation system: (A) receives a request containing the first annotation data identifier; (B) issues a request containing the first XML document identifier to the document system; and (C) in response to the request containing the first annotation data identifier, manifests the first annotation data in connection with a manifestation of a second instance of the XML document.

The operation is at least one of a create, read, update, and delete operation. The first instance of the first XML document is served by a document server component of a document system. The method includes identifying, at each interval in the document, one or more keywords in the text of the document; determining, at each interval, the number of context classes associated with each keyword; identifying at least one annotation word and at an interval in the text of the document, the annotation word having two or more annotations associated with two or more context classes; determining the annotation based on the context class with highest count at the annotation word interval; and annotating the document with the determined annotation.

Abstract: Systems and methods to assist wireless telecom service providers to determine the optimal core network evolution plan in a network planning time period. Total cost of ownership of wireless core networks is generally modeled to include capital expenditure, customer acquisition and retention cost, network operational cost and staffing and engineering cost. The total cost of ownership model is used to determine the optimal core network evolution plan at different layers of the core networks, which are modeled as a number of abstract networks in mathematical terms. A core network evolution optimization algorithm determines the optimal number of core network configurations and when to deploy the configurations in the planning period in order to minimize the total cost of ownership. A multi-level serving area optimization algorithm determines an optimal core network configuration at a given point of time.

There is provided a middleware component, e.g., a delay driver, within a multi-tier software product, the middleware component driver enables simulation of both latency and bandwidth restrictions experienced by the components in the multi-tier software product. The middleware component determines whether I/O request packets should be delayed, selects the number and types of I/O requests packets to be delayed and the amount of time to delay processing of the packets. Through the use of such a middleware component, a user is able to simulate various conditions experienced by the multi-tier software product.
