    Abstract: The method of determining the quality of tape cartridges by calculating a single quality score, and of disclosing this quality score to a buyer during the reselling of a cartridge. The quality score of the cartridge is the sum of a plurality of weighted statistical data that are indicative of the cartridge quality. The statistical data may include statistical data stored in the memory of the cartridge, edge quality data measured during the refurbishing process, and others. The quality score is stored in the cartridge memory.
