Abstract: Method and apparatus for texturing thermoplastic threads. In starting the operation of the texturing device, one or several non-textured yarns can be drawn in more easily and more reliably via a drawing-in yarn guide which guides the at least one yarn for the purpose of drawing same into the feed channels of the texturizing nozzle and into the plug channels of the plug feed roller essentially parallel to these channels and at a predetermined distance from each other.

Abstract: Threads made from thermoplastic materials are textured, in that they are heated by a delivery medium in a delivery channel and conveyed through an orifice into a stuffer box where they are stuffed to form a plug. In order to maintain plug formation constant, the orifice area is monitored in a sensory manner and the measured signals are used for monitoring purposes as a measured quantity in a control loop, in which the supply of damming back medium, the conveying away speed of the plug, the position of the stuffer box walls, or the supply of delivery medium are used as manipulated variables. The measuring signals produced by monitoring can be compared with thresholds to produce control signals corresponding to the comparison result for activating alarm, warning or stopping elements.

Abstract: A textured yarn is directed through a path in which the textured yarn plug forms a loop in which the direction of the yarn plug is changed and the speed of the yarn plug is increased via a draw-off bobbin. The yarn plug within the loop is loosened and the resulting yarn is stretched to form a yarn which can be wound up. The deflection loop in which the yarn plug is loosened is stable depending upon an appropriate choice of speeds between the speed at which the plug is guided into the loop and the speed at which the yarn is drawn from the loop. The deflection loop need not be supported by any mechanical devices.

Abstract: An arrangement for texturizing continuous filament threads using a heated flowing medium comprises a housing which includes a feeding portion, a treatment portion and a crimping portion. The crimping portion includes a stuffing chamber in which the threads are longitudinally compressed to produce crimping of such threads. The crimping portion has openings through which the medium fed into the stuffing chamber with the threads can escape from the stuffing chamber. The crimping portion accommodates a plurality of lamellae which are arranged in a star-like configuration and jointly bound the stuffing chamber. A jet introduces a gas stream into the stuffing chamber in a direction which differs from the direction of advancement of the threads through the stuffing chamber, the gas stream penetrating between the lamellae into the stuffing chamber. At the commencement of the crimping operation, this gas stream causes initial retardation of the continuous thread passing through the stuffing chamber.
