  • Publication number: 20100130356
Abstract: A thermally-responsive record material useful for bar coding is taught comprising a support having provided thereon in substantially contiguous relationship a heat sensitive coating comprising at least one chromogenic material, said chromogenic material being selected from a fluoran, and at least one developer of the formula (II) wherein the chromogenic material and developer are of an average particle size equal to or less than 0.7 ?m meters, wherein the composition is substantially free of sensitizer or modifier. The record material of the invention remarkably images at high speed, with stable or intense imaging and little or no background discoloration.

  • Patent number: 6883237
Abstract: A split end cutting device (20.2) is embodied as an attachment (15.2), which can be detachably connected to a hair cutting machine (21), where the attachment (15.2) has first and second deflecting sections (41, 42), which are disposed parallel to and spaced apart from each other by a distance (X). By means of a hinge (14.2), a third deflecting section (43) can be moved from a first position (A) passing between the first and second deflecting sections (41, 42) into a second position (B) parallel to the first and second deflecting sections (41, 42), in such a way that a lock of hair (28) placed underneath the first and second deflecting sections (41, 42) is engaged from underneath by the third deflecting section (43) and essentially constitutes an upside down U-shape.

  • Patent number: 5955398
Abstract: An improved thermally-responsive record material useful for bar coding is disclosed comprising a support having provided thereon in substantially contiguous relationship: a substantially colorless dye precursor comprising 2-anilino-3-methyl-6-dibutylaminofluoran; a sensitizer selected from the group consisting of 1,2-diphenoxyethane and 1,2-(4-methylphenoxy)ethane; an acidic developer material comprising bis-(3-allyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone which upon being heated reacts with said dye precursor to develop color; and a binder material. The improved thermally-responsive record material and bar code of the invention has a high print contrast signal; high dimensional stability in terms of low bar width growth degradation; a high percentage of successful decodes; and high contrast of the bar code with the background. The invention overcomes difficulties in past efforts to bring together a confluence of these characteristics in one coating formulation.
