  • Patent number: 6146324
Abstract: A therapeutic magnetic and analgesic pad or bandage formed of opposed strips interconnected to define a space or pocket therebetween for receiving a plurality of permanent magnets for generating a magnetic field to effect healing and/or reducing pain of an injured body part. The strip of the bandage or pad adapted to be placed in contact with the injured body part is formed of a synthetic water insoluble resin material which is impregnated with an analgesic ingredient in a manner whereby the analgesic ingredient is gradually released in a dry volatile state and imparted to the injured body part to synergistically further minimize pain and enhance healing.

  • Patent number: 5993375
Abstract: A pad having a permanent magnet therein and a first fastener material on one side and a mating fastener material on the other side. A plurality of pads are fastened together along their perimeters forming any desired shape. The plurality of pads are placed adjacent a portion of the body creating a desired magnetic field for use in magnetic therapy. An elastic wrap or bandage is used to hold the plurality of attached pads in position adjacent to the body. The pad has a foam material on one side and a mesh material on the other. A VELCRO fastener material is preferably used for attaching the plurality of pads together. The modular pad makes easy placement of permanent magnets used in magnetic therapy without the need for a variety of special purpose pads shaped to fit the desired portion of the body. Magnetic therapy can therefore be practiced with greater flexibility and reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 5709409
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a spiral bound book having a permanent magnet incorporated in one of the covers and a complementary weight or magnet incorporated in the opposite cover. The arrangement is such that the spiral bound book is rendered readily displayable or used by magnetic attraction to a magnetically attractive surface whereby the weight or magnet in the opposite cover will cause the book to be displayed in an open position. The individual pages may also incorporate a permanent magnet whereby the respective pages can be maintained or disposed in any selectable open position.

  • Patent number: 5702126
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a miniature book construction in which one of the book covers includes a permanent magnet whereby the book can be readily affixed to a magnetically attractive surface. The book construction includes a cover jacket formed of a foldable material in which the magnet forming an end cover is adhesively secured to the cover jacket opposite a rigid blank defining the other cover, the ends of the jacket being reversely folded over the ends of the respective covers, with the bound pages of the book secured between the opposed covers by adhesively securing the opposed end most pages to the inside of the adjacent covers. Alternate embodiments may include utilizing a permanent magnet in each of the respective covers whereby the poles of the magnet may be positioned to either attract or repel so that the book may be maintained in a normally closed or open position depending upon the relationship of the poles of the respective magnets included in the book covers.
